Really related to your pain here. I’m 1 fish, 1 dropped in about 20 outings on soft plastics. I had to switch back to bait just to feel what a fish feels like. Very tough lure fishery in this river.

Love lure fisherman who still use bait from time to time. I still haven’t had luck on lures, so I’ve always just gone back to baits. I think on the average size of catch the rank goes: 1) Live Bait 2) Lures 3) Frozen Bait But lures and frozen baits can also depend sometimes.

correction: 1) bread balls. lol

Hey James, Ive had abit better success switching to a 2” grub on a 1/16. It’s surprising that a 2.5” in motoroil spook them, but the 2” doesn’t. I think it’s the thinner body. It’s still hard to fool the bigger fish esp when bright. The smaller fish follow the sp and keep nipping the tail so a stinger might help but it depends on the day and how they commit. Pumpkin zman was the ticket. Cheers!

Tip: Go extremely light 1/20th or 1/40th slow drag/hop action and back loop around when chasing if they see anything out of the ordinary they will scatter. it looks like your fishing around anglers tavern you should try near the V.U across footscary that area isn't bad either. Great vid btw keep it up bro!!!

This is great testing mate, I find in Qld, I’ll go to a location and have a couple cast nets, match whatever the bait fish in that are to the closest lure I have and boom, usually a good session

Hey mate where do you normally fish in parramatta and what lures do you use. I’m new to fishing so any advice would help. Really struggling to find places to fish.

@@JamesIbby g'day mate , I fish the salt from Rydalmere to the weir at Parramatta . And the fresh the other side of the weir . Flattys , bream , tailor , whiting , all sorts in the salt . I use Zman soft plastics , Gulp soft plastics , chubby hard bodies and blades . In the fresh there's carp and bass , but I only target the bass . For them I use the same chubby hard bodies , surface lures and beetle spins . Hope this helps champ . 🎣🤙

Nice vid mate. Try a running sinker rig with a plastic instead of a jighead next time. You'll feel the snags before the hook hits them. You can even rig with a weedless hook if you want. Make sure you use straight shank hooks for any plastics or they'll twirl. I hate snags.
