James you really scored with that one. What a double header. Love the connection you discuss between generations. Lee Krasner..my appreciation and admiration for her talent grows with every new painting I see. Thanks James and than you Kate.

Are the early Lee paintings reminiscent of Mark Tobey, a favorite of mine back in the day, 1960's.

Thank you for your postings...now living and getting old in New Hampshire; I miss my time living in the BIG APPLE during the 70's & 80's as a textile colorist.

I've become rather fond of Lee Krasner, and the variety of this span of works shows there's more to be discovered. I wonder how much connection there was b/t her and Richard Pousette-Dart and/or Wifredo Lam? Thank you as ever James, and Kate.

Always felt Lee Krasner a stronger Artist than Pollack and sacrificed a lot of her career promoting his work. THANK YOU KATE JAMES and LOREN ❤

8.54mins. Peggy Guggenheim suggested in 1943 to Jackson Pollock he look at 12th century Japanese collages. Lee Krasner might show of the influence of Japanese collages in this painting

Kinda liked the Eddie Martinez stuff: it's nothing earth-shattering, reminds me a little of Corneille with some of the color areas whited-out. IMHO it is damn-near impossible to come up with anything today in the world of abstract/non-objective art that isn't derivative. And though I enjoy Lee Krasner's work, the Rothko-type things were forgettable.
