Hey AVGN the song in "Maximum Carnage" is licenced, but it is the "Green Jelly" cover of it. Every song on "Maximum Carnage" is performed by "Green Jelly" then converted to the 16 bit format

believe it or not Maximum Carnage was released after LJN was bought by Acclaim, and the game was actually published and developed by Acclaim. But for some reason, they published it under the LJN name on the SNES and the Acclaim name on the Sega Genesis. Point is, LJN sucks, it was only good because it was actually Acclaim after they took over and actually wound up developing and publishing it themselves.

LJN actually did not make Maximum Carnage. It was developed by Software Creations, and LJN published the SNES version, while Acclaim published the Genesis version (Acclaim owned LJN). No LJN games were actually made by them, as they were only a publisher. Games like Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Jaws, Back to the Future, T&C Surf Designs, etc...all of them were made by different developers. In fact, Roger Rabbit was actually developed by RARE, and T&C Surf was developed by Atlus.

Platform jumping for half an hour to find an important item but if you went the wrong way tou get nothing but ammo and you have to go back all the way. I'm surprised you never played Maximum Carnage as a kid! In my little circle of friends this game blew all our minds. The Spiderman Cartoon had emerged at the top of the cartoon hierarchy after TMNT, Power Rangers, Batman, and X-Men had all been out a while. The Spiderman cartoon was the new hotness and Maximum Carnage was *the* game telling the most popular story, Venom. Actually, looking back, Spiderman and Gargoyles might have been the end of the era. The last mega-popular beat-em-up super hero action cartoons. After that my friends started watching Cartoon Cartoons, Nicktoons, and graduating out of cartoons to more adult media. I'm 31, so in 1995 I was 10. It's actually incredible how the media landscape seems like it morphed around my specific age group. I'm so happy your found your LJN game at the end of the rainbow!
