Jesus was announced as king of Israel in that choice between Jesus and Barabbas. Quickly said, Pilot dressed Jesus up as King, Pilot presented Jesus to the Sanhedrin and high priest among the crowd as "their King". Told the crowd to choose to crucify "their King" or Barabbas. The Saducees and High Priest chose "their king" Jesus to be crucified and instigated the Jewish crowd to choose "their King" to be crucified..... and so the Priesthood anointed Jesus as their king in order for him to be executed. And Pilat published this fact above Jesus head at a time when Jerusalem was most crowded of Jews from all over the realm. What this accomplished was to legalize according to Torah law Jesus' amended covenant and make irrelevant all burdensome Talmudic rules. I think Jesus and Pilat planned it together. Mary: There was only one holy book when Jesus was born, which is the Torah. And teaching God is Yahweh and nothing else. CP: Then Mary: I still teach him that God is Yahweh. CP: Can he be God? Mary: Previously, there was Pharaoh and Nimrud who claimed to be gods. I didn't make a mistake the second time CP: Ok, next Mary: Jesus was very weak as a child, dependent on others, I fed him. Why did the Jews want to kill Yeshua?? Why go above and beyond to have him crucified?
@mugikuyu9403

@@eklypised Every single one of Jesus’ followers were Jews. So what do you mean by “why did the Jews want to kill Jesus?” All Jews wanted Jesus dead? No. Only some specific people in positions of power probably viewed Jesus as a threat. The vast majority of Jews did not know who he was or care about what he was saying, which is why his followers were few in numbers and poor. Why does anyone want to kill anyone else? What lead to Christian’s killing Christian’s? There’s myriad reasons to such a question. The best theory I’ve heard as to why the temple authorities handed him to the romans (who did the actual killing) was because they were afraid that if he caused a rebellion the entire Jewish race would be punished as a result. Hard to say they were wrong, if they did indeed think that, given what later happened during the great Jewish revolt and the bar kokbah revolt. These two revolts and their consequences changed the face of Judaism forever and were the beginning of a long history of tragedies in the hands of European kingdoms and empires.

@@eklypised Your questions are good ones and I think a good place to begin answering them is found in this video, beginning with time-marker 3:04ff. “…for many Jews it was impossible to separate the social and political realities of military occupation and economic oppression from Jewish piety and Faith. The Jewish belief that the people of Israel have been chosen by God to become a model nation that would exemplify Justice and Righteousness to the entire world was fundamental. The Hebrew prophets had predicted that in the last days all nations would go up to Jerusalem to learn about the one true, creator God, irresistibly drawn by Israel's moral example of peace and justice. Not all Jews accepted such an idealistic vision but enough did that John the Baptizer, Jesus and his brother James were able to spark a movement that threatened the highest levels of the political and religious establishment. (To me, this last sentence is the key: John, Jesus, James and their movement threatened the highest levels of political and religious power.)

@@eklypised it’s a tale as old as time. The people in power had to crush the people who threatened the system of power. In this case, it was a strictly Jewish affair, but it is no different than the British high-ranking officials who wanted to kill Gandhi.

@@eklypised for the same reason you want him to be killed (than to say it was sacrificed) rather save him. I find it amazing you ask a question why Jew wanted to kill him, so you know it was an incident of killing a person. Not a incident of willing sacrifice by any parties. Not by killer and not by the person who was killed. Can you sacrifice anything without the intention of doing a sacrifice? No parties know. If a person claim to be god we say He is mad 😡, we don't kill him. Last thing an empire would do to kill a person who claimed to be god. He was killed cuz his voice was against oppression. - The Gospel of Jesus was originally one book, written by Lazarus in consultation with the Apostles [John 21:24] and published soon after Jesus left them on their own. The religion was hijacked by Rome, the Gospel was broken up scrambled adulterated into a bunch of competing narratives. Later four of those adulterated gospels were canonized with falsely ascribed authorship and a Gnosticism cover-story. It was the finding of an original Gospel of Jesus scroll in Jerusalem that gained the Knights Templar power over the Church and their eventual undoing when the church finally retaliated against them Friday 13th.

Plato tells us that one of the prisoners is released, let us examine this release via the instructions given by T.Lobsang Rampa..stilling the mind- seek first the Kingdom of God..conscious astral travel- leaving the cave/body. John 8: 32. Plato tells us that the prisoners will reject this release, let us examine this rejection via the psychological effects of Stockholm syndrome..Mathew 7: 21-23.. Ya know, I respect Dr Tabor's expertise, but wonder how much stock he'd put on "Jesus came from the line of David," as actual History? @brianfileman
@brianfileman Жыл бұрын
Thought I would pitch in here. Firstly, David might or might not have existed as a real king or human being. Perhaps he is just a legend. If he did exist, I doubt the veracity or reliability of any stories written *down about him (effectively 400-500 years later in Babylon). But let’s assume he was king of a minor state in and around Jerusalem. It is written that he hat several children, as did his supposed son Solomon. In the intervening 800-900 years, given the way generics work in small populations, the odds are that Jesus would have been able to claim some sort of lineage back to David, probably via both parents. But then so would most of the population in that area. So it’s not that relevant, unless one is wanting to retro-engineer a ‘prophesy’ and use it as proof about a specific messianic claim. Even finding evidence of biblical figures or habitations in no way validates the religious claims in scripture. After all, we have *proof that Egyptian pharaohs existed. Their literature claims they are also gods. All of the Ceasers existed. They were worshiped as gods too. As were figures across cultures and time. Do we accept those claims as being divine truth? Outside a few devotees, I’d say no. So why believe the god of the Bible is any more real? Sorry, that became a bit of a rant.

To understand the relevance of Jesus let's just study Daniel's 70 weeks prophecy. Without ignoring passages, altering punctuation, rearranging scripture, relying on obscure extra-biblical apostates, or imaginary calendar keeping, a plain reading of Dan 9:25, 26 shows that from Artaxerxes I decree to Ezra to take all the volunteers he wanted and return with them to Judah and Jerusalem, and further giving Ezra authority over the region and substantial funds, wasn't just a fact finding trip - it was to restore Jerusalem. From which event, simple addition of 69 weeks of years yields the baptism ("anointing") of Jesus Christ in A.D. 26, all consistent with history and His age, length of ministry and crucifixion ("cutting off") in A.D. 30, the only year in which the gospel accounts of Passion Week can be harmonized and reconciled with calendars. Daniel 9:25, 26 is in fact fulfilled Messianic prophecy is clearly fulfilled in Jesus. You will now say it's coincidence. Just like it's coincidence he was born in Bethlehem. Was pierced, smitten, entered Jerusalem on a donkey, bones not broken etc. All that coincidence? Even the great prophecy in Daniel? Really?

The Gospel of Jesus was originally one book, written by Lazarus in consultation with the Apostles [John 21:24] and published soon after Jesus left them on their own.

Jesus did not 'move beyond it' - as if to abandon it - that would be error. He was trying to show that the Lord does ALL THINGS (Isaiah 45: 7), and that all were as such 'bound by their actions' to the law, and elevated the requirements of it to a spiritual level, whereby the fruits of a persons actions (what comes out of a man) defiled him. The law cannot be enforced by the letter, as you would have to break it in order to fulfill it. This is what Jesus wrote in the sand... Exodus 21:12 or (but less likely) Leviticus 24:17 The 'scales' that fell from Saul's eyes, were the scales of rights to judge. Evil has a purpose - it's the most enjoyable way to learn what NOT to do. I have THE 'theodicy' sir... and I welcome you to discuss it with me. The world 'needs' it. And it is time. Isaac only when you look at what Paul is saying in his letters, it states clearly only the children of Isaac can receive the promise,.. This is why the scribes and Pharisees were persecuting them, you see the scribes and Pharisees were actually the children of Ishmael... and Paul was basically saying they were not included.. Genesis 16:12And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren. Galatians 4:28¶Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. 29But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. 30Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. Also note.. Paul in the passages below states, just because people are the children of Abraham doesn't make them heirs to the promises, Paul goes on to say that only the children of Isaac could receive the promises which the letters a referencing... Let me also add, Paul would not write letters to people at Rome about the Affairs of a bloodline covenant, if these Gentiles at Rome were not the" bloodline of Isaac" .......(The northern house)....... Let's review. Romans 9 7Neither, because they are the bloodline of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy bloodline be called. 8That is, They which are the children of the flesh,= Ishmael ) are not the children of God: but the children of the promise=( Isaac) are counted for the bloodline. 9For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. Note, Paul in Romans 9:9 refers you to Genesis 17:21 confirming it's their bloodline Covenant which is indeed being referenced.. Genesis 17:21 But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. Now this doesn't mean you can't have salvation, but it does mean you can't have part in the promises it's referencing from the letters.. Such as being part of the body of Christ, the Eternal priesthood for example... But you can be a fellow citizen in a finished Kingdom with a finished eternal Temple which now makes intercession from the clouds of Heaven as we speak.. As the children of Isaac , the corporate body of Christ has inherited all things and now control the New Covenant as the Saints of Heaven.... Romans 4 13¶For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. Isaiah 49 8¶Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages.. Isaiah 54:3For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

The God of the Jews said: Isaiah 46:9-10 "Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure." And He will not change His mind: Numbers 23:19 God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill? Where are the followers of the **renowned and powerful people at their time**? The Nazis, Stalinists, even followers of Elvis Presley? Why is the Man so hated by most of His people, the Jews,. and His early followers were hiding because of persecution, and were fed by the Romans to lions for entertainment (which should have effectively stop their growth, the spread of Christianity, followers of Jesus CHRIST), why is He still famous today and His followers are now in billions? Because God fulfilled His promise?, that **through** the offspring of Isaac, and Jacob/Israel, A JEW, will ALL NATIONS on earth be blessed, Genesis 26:4, 28:14. The God of the Jews never commanded the Jews to proselyte. But we came to know their God (the Bible contains the old testament, the Torah of the Jews) through THE JEW, Jesus Christ who commanded His followers to proclaim the gospel to the world.

The silly portrayal of Jesus starting at 0:50 is based on Joan Taylor's book, "What Did Jesus Look Like." Taylor constructed her ridiculous image of Jesus by tritely dismissing the Shroud of Turin as authentic. She bought into Dr. McCrone's "painting" theory and then opined that the images on the Shroud were the result of a medieval penitential rite. Her book is full of errors and makes no sense. Dr. Tabor is also a Shroud denier, and perhaps that is why he has posted Taylor's supposed image of Jesus throughout this video.

A couple of tiny misapprehensions... (1) Most families could not remotely afford to make all of the pilgrimages to Jerusalem every year; you lose too many workdays just coming and going and leave the home village unoccupied and unprotected - depending on how far away they were and their specific means, they made as many pilgrimages to Jerusalem as possible. To do otherwise is to create the conditions for starvation. The farmers needed to tend their crops and animals, it's as simple as that. Perhaps you could get a neighbor to tend yours for a week, probably in return for tending theirs. Otherwise, in subsistence agriculture, somebody is going to starve to death. See the importance of human life, below. Now as a single, healthy, male with no family responsibilities and a trade (not a farmer) it would have been easier for Jesus to make the pilgrimage than it was for most; but the same would be true of any other single, healthy male who was not a farmer. It's not remarkable in any way. (2) There is no reason to suppose that Jesus (or most anybody els) was circumcised at the Temple. It was then, as now, done near home and often in the home. Travelling with a newborn was insanely dangerous, and even worse for the mother. Basic respect for the lives of the individuals, which is among the highest of all Jewish values, makes a trip to the Temple from any distance, absurd and very very wrong, the deepest sort of irresponsible sin. If anybody at all was circ'd in the Temple precincts, it would have been only the folks who lived there - and even then, likely performed in the living quarters. (3) Was Jesus a "card-carrier"? Nope, there's no such thing. There's no such thing as formal denominations. Sadducees and Pharisees were more like styles and bodies of opinion; they were not formal things that a person could "join" or "quit." Some individuals were strongly opinionated one way or another, but there was no "membership." Essenes were a little different, because they tended to live in isolated communities. And you're right, the largest group of Jews were "just Jews" - these "partisan" distinctions were entirely a matter of the educated elite. Even such modern distinctions as "Reform Judaism" or "Orthodox Judaism" have no formal meaning within Judaism; one can switch between then without "converting." One is born into Judaism or converts into Judaism, one is not born or converted into "Reformism" or "Orthodoxy." It's not like Catholics vs Protestants, or this-Protestant-denomination vs that one. Likewise one was never born or converted to "Pharisaism" or "Sadducism" - this makes no sense and has no meaning. One is a Jew, or one is not; and if not, one can hang out with Jews and pray with Jews provided only that one is not disrespectful. Further, although one born Gentile can convert to become a Jew, one faces no penalty in this life or the next if one doesn't.

I don't think we have evidence that Jesus had an open attitude towards Gentiles and women. Matthew says he told his disciples to avoid Samaritans and Gentiles and go "only to the lost sheep of Israel." I think that's remembering a historical Jesus who avoided Gentiles. Jesus is also said to call Gentiles "dogs" and "pigs," but I think more significant is the fact that Paul said he had to get permission from James to evangelize Gentiles. If Jesus had done that himself, why would Paul have needed to get permission. I see no evidence of Jesus being progressive towards women as well. He is rarely shown interacting with them, but when he does, they are always in a subservient role to him. The Pericope Adulterae is not authentic. He did tell men not to abandon their wives. Paul says nothing about Jesus being progressive with women even though it might have helped him to do so. Mary Magdalene, I think is a fictional character. She has no existence or interaction with Jesus before the empty tomb and the empty tomb itself is a Markan fiction. She's just a plot device. I think she may have been split off from the MOTHER of Jesus who is disparaged as "Mary the Hairdresser" in the Talmud (Tolodeth Yeshu, I think, but that might be wrong) and apparently, "Magdalene" can mean "Hairdresser." I say "disparaged" because "hairdresser" was sometimes a euphemism for "prostitute." There are scholars who think "Mary the Hairdresser" was split off into a separate character in order to create room for the new and improved "Virgin Mary." Anyway, I would be careful about reading too much "openess" into Jesus. He is not likely to have been any more progressive than James and everything we have in the Canonical Gospels is post-Pauline. I think Jesus' significance was in his opposition to, or subversion of ritual purity and animal sacrifice in favor of repentance and forgiveness, which is pretty much the same thing John the Baptist taught, but Jesus expanded it even more by deputizing people to baptize. JD Crossan characterizes this as Jesus "franchising" John the Baptist. I think Jesus was specifically targeting people who were deemed guilty of "sins against God." That phrase occurs in the Gospels where it is said that no one but God can forgive a "sin against God." But what counts as a "sin against God?" Well, apparently that was a phrase used to describe people with congenital or unexplained conditions or illnesses such as blindness, leprosy and lameness. Any sort of skin condition was called "leprosy: and that included Vitiligo or any superficial discoloration of the skin. It could also refer to psoriasis or eczema or any break in the skin. It usually did NOT refer to Hansen's disease, which seems to have been rare to non-existent in Palestine at the time of Jesus. The word translated as "leprosy" is a Greek translation of a Hebrew word which refers to a sort of general discontinuity or corruption of skin but in Hebrew it can also be applied to thinks like runs in fabric or a moldy wall. Lepers were anyone who seemed to have something wrong with their skin or who had vitiligo (which the Bible calls "white leprosy." All that is is vitiligo). People who had conditions like this were thought to have angered God somehow. They assumed God was doing that to them for a REASON and that as long as they had the condition God was still mad at them. What particular sin the person committed was unknown. It didn't matter. the fact that he was blind or lam or leprous was proof that God was angry at him. These people could not go to the Temple as long as they were seen as being in this state of impurity. They just had to pray and wait for it to cl;ear up. The Dead Sea Scrolls say the Essenes had a leper colony right where Bethany is at the foot of the Mount of Olives. This was a place the Essenes set up to keep the unclean away from the other pilgrims while they waited for God to heal them. Apparently, at some point. Jesus just started telling these people they were forgiven and could go to the Temple. When asked where he got the authority to declare this he said. "the son of man has the power to forgive." I think that was the most central teaching of Jesus and the most understood and it's misunderstood in the same way that all other teachings of Jesus are misunderstood. The phrase "son of man" is just how you say "people" in Aramaic. "Bar Enash or Bar'nash" is the ordinary Aramaic word for "human being." It was not a special title for one person. Jesus was not saying "I PERSONALLY have authority to forgive," he was saying "PEOPLE have the authority to forgive each OTHER" for this alleged "sins against God." Mark misunderstood "son of man" as the angelic figure described in Daniel and as a personal designation for Jesus but I don't think Jesus ever intended it that way.

I think you make a good case for Jesus ministering only to Jews and that’s a very interesting perspective on his theology. But I don’t think I buy that Mary Magdalene was fictional (it’d be too bizarre a choice to make the story of the resurrection dependent upon a female prostitute) and I haven’t been persuaded by the idea that the empty tomb is a common trope. I am reading Jesus A Life in Class Conflict right now and they make the case that Jesus ministered to the rich much more than we tend to considered - that Jesus and his followers believed wealth to be a sin, and that the rich must give their wealth to the poor to be welcome in the Kingdom of God. I find it convincing and in this model it is most likely that MM is a ‘converted’ wealthy patron of the movement. I also don’t think having women being subservient to Jesus is an indication of his attitude towards them. Rather of symptom of a fervently patriarchal society. It would be unimaginable for a Great Man to be portrayed as equal to or underneath a woman. Granted as the book I’m reading points out, Jesus still would’ve extremely patriarchal by today’s standards.

Matthew 2:23 “And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, HE SHALL BE CALLED A NAZARENE.” Jesus was a Nazarene… a Galilean. “And the multitude said, Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee. “ Matthew 21:11 The word “Jew” did not exist. The letter “J” was not invented until about 1524. When Jesus taught about the Rapture, He used the ancient Galilean wedding to foreshadow the biblical rapture. His disciples, other than Judas, were Galileans.

very interesting video. but i would disgree with the idea that the pharisees were a small elitist group. josephus says a few times that the multitude of the jews followed the pharisees josephus says: [288] However, this prosperous state of affairs moved the Jews to envy Hyrcanus; but they that were the worst disposed to him were the Pharisees, 1 who were one of the sects of the Jews, as we have informed you already. These have so great a power over the multitude, that when they say any thing against the king, or against the high priest, they are presently believed. (15) On account of these doctrines, they (Pharisees) are very influential among the body of the people, and whatever they do about divine worship, prayers, and sacrifices, they perform them according to their direction. In this way, the inhabitants of the cities gave great tribute to the Pharisees by conducting themselves virtuously, both in their way of life and their discourses as well.

Everything that came after Yehoshua the teacher of what is called the Matthew gospel is of the false christ created after the gospel, after the good news preached in the gospel, that christ is false, a deception its name jesus and its cross never happened except in the man of sins lying epistles, the writings of Paul of tarsus and the rest of the ones who come in the name if jesus and not in the name of God alone as all true lost sheep will. We serve God alone not any christ! I know God, I walk in covenant with God and I Love God. I fear God as well and that is the beginning of Love because until you fear disobeying God and causing God to look upon you in shame so you feel horrible then you can not love Him. I started this walk when I was 32, to look for God. I started to actually begin to find God when I was 39 and sealed myself to God as the gospel tells us to, those of us who listen to the gospel teacher and not the ones who came after him, know to take up the commandments of God and to seek out our roots back to Abraham and to Moses and Yehoshua and the prophets so we become firm in knowledge of what GOD ALONE asked of us. It took me several years of fighting sin and the devil by obeying God. I fought the sin out of me with God's help, by his instructions in the written word. It is a very narrow road and as the mattan/Matthew gospel says very few will find it. We have to fight Satan and the whole world that serves him in sin in order to get out and the one who will help is God alone because we can't trust anyone else. I am with God, God provides for myself and my family and yes there is absolutely evidence BUT not until you absolutely come clean, in thought, word and deed, the absolute opposite of all the lying religions. The gospel was sent down to free us from sin by sending us to our teacher and if you reject it then you are freed from God into sin perpetually and to death spiritually from God which as I can now see is absolutely hell on earth, your light you pretend to have is absolutely darkness caused by your unwillingness to even try to obey God. I speak to 99% of the population. If you can't put everyone first after God and stop yourself from all sin THEN YOUR NOT WORTHY AND YOU ARE ALREADY FINISHED BEFORE YOU EVEN STARTED. So come out of all sun, take up the commandments and begin your battle, call to GOD ALONE, LEARN YOUR ROOTS, BE GOD'S PEOPLE. FIGHT SATAN WHO IS THE SINNERS INNER VOICE, THE CONSCIENCE THAT LEADS YOU TO HURT YOU, that's not you, it's Satan the deceiver. If you come to God and pass the trials cleansing yourself by obedience then GOD WILL BECOME YOUR CONSCIENCE AND YOU WILL LOVE GOD AND HATE SIN, SATAN WILL FLEE FROM YOU. SO there it is. Peace, the ball in in your court Be wary of this world, it is the valley of death, you need God's light and God doesn't dwell with sin or sinners. Not until they begin the journey to stop sin.

Jesus was NOT Jewish in faith, and no connection to the people today who practice that faith. Jesus and everyone in the Bible stories was practicing the teachings of Abraham and Moses, who were awaiting the Messiah. Jesus was the Messiah!

Judaism judges outward appearances Jesus doesn't. Just one example that shows Jews lie about this subject. Jesus was stoned by Jews his whole life for his teachings.

The Gospel of Jesus was originally one book, written by Lazarus in consultation with the Apostles [John 21:24] and published soon after Jesus left them on their own.
