Life is so hectic, but James Taylor is one of only a handful of recording artists/singers that put me at peace almost immediately. So glad he’s been and always will be a part of my musical life. ‘Love Always’ Matthew 21:22

In wake of the world we're currently living in, we need more music like this. I don't know you, but if you're reading this & you're a man or a woman or nb or a person of faith, or not, or whatever race you are, you're valid, you have meaning & I love you.

Fell in love with this song first time I heard it 30+ years ago. The performance here is perfection, some of the best pure singing I've ever heard, in any context.

Last night, we saw James Taylor and his All Star Band at Jones Beach on Long Island. My heart is still full, changed, for having a night so sweet. All, from beginning to end will be memorable. As for 'Shed a Little Light' ... the lyrics, the vocals, the music, and the tender presence of James and of those in his band made for something I want to always hold near. That it be a source of hope for this world of ours, and for this little spot of an island in the vast universe. 💞

This song features the voice of Valerie Carter. Valerie's voice was featured for artists from Little Feat, Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, Glenn Frey and Shawn Colvin. She was the quintessential background voice during the 70s, 80s and 90s. Sadly, she passed away in 2017. She will be missed.

I love Mrs. Valerie Carter so much! Besides being extremely gorgeous she also a silk voice that could move you inside life few! Unfortunately I only truly discovered her after her death.

As well as David Lasley who has also died. Singers on this album are Arnold McCuller, David Lasley, Kate Markowitz, Valerie Carter & Phillip Ballou who had filled in for Arnold McCuller for the 1990 summer and fall tour due to Arnold being on tour with Phil Collins.

Oh let us turn our thoughts today to Martin Luther King And recognize that there are ties between us All men and women, living on the earth Ties of hope and love, sister and brotherhood That we are bound together With a desire to see the world become A place in which our children can grow free and strong We are bound together by the task that stands before us And the road that lies ahead, we are bound then we are bound There is a feeling like the clenching of the fist There is a hunger in the center of the chest There is a passage through the darkness and the mist Though the body sleeps the heart will never rest Shed a little light oh lord (So that we can see) Ohh now (Just a little light ohh lord) Just a little light oh lord (Gonna stand it on up) Stand it on up (Stand it up ohh Lord) Get down (Gonna walk it on down) Gonna shed a little (Shed a little light ohh lord) No No No No (When I open my eyes, I want to drink my fill) (From the well on the hill) Then you know where I'll be Shed a little light oh lord (So that we can see) Ahh yes (Just a little light ohh lord) Just a little light oh lord (We're gonna stand it on up) Stand it on up (Stand it up ohh Lord, Stand it up ohh lord) (Gonna walk it on down) Gonna shed a little (Shed a little light ohh lord) There is a feeling like the clenching of the fist There is a hunger in the center of the chest There is a passage through the darkness and the mist Though the body sleeps the heart will never rest Oh let us turn our thoughts today to Martin Luther King And recognize that there are ties between us All men and women, living on the earth Ties of hope and love, sister and brotherhood That we are bound together With a desire to see the world become A place in which our children can grow free and strong We are bound together by the task that ties before us And the road that lies ahead, we are bound and we are bound

I agree with you about being devoted and being bound together by morals, and ethics that are caring, and the Value of each human being. So why do men want to be our gender our sexual organs, when we are the creators of life. Jesus saidvto John look after my mother. He did not say, try anc be her. Fact James.

Submitted for your consideration. A brief video of protest. Not very well lit and kind of sketchy. But in the shadows you can sometimes see and hear maybe 4 or 5 characters raising their voices in protest. You can hear their demands very clearly. Strangely though, there are no buildings on fire. No looting. No broken windows. No threats are sworn. No one intimidated. This video must be what peaceful protest looks and sounds like. It should be held as the gold standard by which all other protest is measured.
