Watching this back, I feel a bit bad about how pissed off I got at Gweneth Paltrow’s routine! I wasn’t angry at her. If you want to use products that are free from certain ingredients, that’s entirely up to you. The issue I have is, she is also a brand owner, who spreads an appalling amount of misinformation. The clean beauty movement was created to make us feel more confident and ‘safer’ with our cosmetic purchases, but, in my opinion, all the misinformation and triggering words, such as Toxins, chemicals, free from, clean etc etc, has created nothing but confusion and fear FOR NO REASON. Whilst it’s easier for a brand to sell their products through fear, I just wish a brand would sell their products with science and education.

I just wish celebrities/influencers would stop sharing their skincare routines without also sharing the treatments they get done. It creates a false hope for people that if they use the same products they’ll get the same results. Jhene Aiko was asked for her routine on Twitter. And while she shared the products she uses. She also said that the biggest difference in her skin comes from the treatments she gets every couple of months to control any bumps or scarring. And shared exactly what those treatments are. That is way more helpful to people than these celebrities using a $300 serum from Dr. Barbara Sturm and claiming it transformed their skin.

Have you seen the fenty skin AD. If you see Rihanna’s skin you’ll feel inclined to buy it. Celebrities products sell mostly because the fans want to look like the celebrity, so she has to put on the idea that she has clear skin so people would feel the need to want their skin to look like hers and buy her product. Most likely she had makeup on her fore head from a breakout, if it was her eyebrows she would have applied it carefully avoiding the brows (lol I’ve done it before, ‘twas my best eyebrow yet 😢 still had to wipe it off tho) No one would buy a skincare product from a celebrity who they feel has more than everything they need to get a good esthetician and a smooth skin and yet still doesn’t have smooth skin, they would probably think it doesn’t work because it didn’t work for her. So I think that’s the business side of it.

Late to the party here, but some things to note: a huge part of washing your face is to introduce water to the skin and then seal it in with a moisturizer. Even if you don't wear makeup, you're not into skincare, whatever, it's still a good idea to at least every day splash your face with water and apply a moisturizer that compliments your skin type. Also, Kylie is very young and has very youthful skin by default. She also has access to and utilizes products and services many of us could never afford. I wonder if that stuff is good to exfoliate legs tho. 🤔
@kimberygraf54044 жыл бұрын
@@jenniferdennis6465 I've used it many years ago, but now I prefer sugar scrubs like Tree Hut--- they do a more consistent job more gently and smell amazing. If it feels too rough, simply add a touch more water (to dissolve the sugar particles) and then you can shave or apply self-tanner so nicely.

I have watched many skin care "gurus" and self-proclaimed "experts" but none have impressed me like James Welsh. Very down to earth and pleasant to listen to, with great knowledge in many areas🙏

Very informative video! Also, thank you for bringing up the fear mongering that people like GP promote. People like her need to be stoped. She has promoted so many dangerous things over the years. I’m glad people like James are helping to combat that in a productive and non hateful manner.

My fav manual exfoliator, after trying like 5 different ones, has to be a gel + black sugar one. It isn't harsh at all, I can feel the granules, but it causes no pain and feels very gentle yet it makes me feel like it is working. Love it!

fungirl0123456 just try to guess how long her mascara or her oth ‘natural’ products would remain bacteria-free without the good necessary added ingredients. Natural needs to be used up very quickly because it will quickly be getting rancid. No one in the natural makeup push ever tells you that.

You!! Where have you been all my life!?! This is the 4th or 5th time I've heard you talk about chemical vs. physical exfoliation. No one, not even my dermatologist, could explain why I had so much trouble with exfoliation. My dermatologist just blamed it on my Psoriasis...smh! Your chemical, not physical method has changed my life! I thank you!! My skin thanks you!!! Please keep sharing your knowledge, there are so many out there with no idea and you put them all to shame!! LOVE you!

Big fan of your videos! They've been a huge help! I used to be a nun, and we didn't have anything even close to skincare in the cloister. So now, I'm starting over from scratch and that includes learning how to take care of my skin. Thank you for all you've taught me! I'm actually getting compliments on my skin now and people can't believe I don't wear make-up. Thank you so much!

Me with Atopic Dermatitis,who has to be super extra max level careful with skincare,hearing Gwyneth say that:- 😐😶😬😵☠ Edit:- My mom's like in the same age group as her,and my mom hasn't aged since 19🥲,all because of a standard good routine,and like an occasional facial,not regularly because idk honestly,but most importantly,eating tasty,healthy food from a young age(College pictures as physical evidence).She's also blessed in skin genetics 💯💯💯💯💯

I've been using straight up sunflower oil sometimes grapeseed oil to remove my makeup before washing it with facial wash. Because from what I've found, these two oils are the most non-comedogenic. Then I wipe off the excess with a damp microfiber towel or any soft towel. And now I'm wondering if that's the right thing to do. I agree with what you said, cleansing wipes are baddd for environment and I also never usr cotton pad to apply my toner anymore. I feel like using my own hands help pushing the toner into my face more.
