This makes me sad to watch as Jamie reminds me of myself at her age, she can't be anymore than about 22 or 23? I'm now 38 and have been on methadone for a good amount of years now because over here doctors prefer to keep people on it for as long as they need and you're not forced into reducing until you're ready and as I was on a pretty high dose of it until recently. I just hope Jamie can get herself on a methadone program too so she's so young and has plenty of time of get herself clean and drug free🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖

Methadone is a drug too.... All these people do is trade one drug for another drug only difference is it's given by a dam doctor.... So none of these people are "CLEAN".... ALL THEY DID WAS WENT N GOT THE DOCTORS LEGAL DRUG..... And most people that take subboxen abuse that just like they do heroin!!!! @@youngone1676 Its that exact stigma that I'm trying to get rid of! You don't know other peoples situation or why they are on methadone. Yes we are clean. I am on disability for several reasons and we will just start with 2 ...born with club foot which jacked my hips and back all up ...shall I keep going. I spent years going to the chiropractor and trying to do things naturally all while working and going to school off and on. Then neurosurgeon after neurosurgeon, pain Dr after pain Dr, phys. therapy, shots...the whole nine. Im not going to go into my whole history because quite frankly it's nobody's damn business and I'm not looking for sympathy. After losing my Dr because after years of being strict(thats why I liked him), he succumbed to greed and tried cutting out the pharmacy's and making his patients get their prescriptions from him instead, I ended up on methadone. yes I would start to take my meds as I needed them and not stick to the prescribed dose so i started to run out early.. After awhile i would do dope. Yes and other stuff too...but when I had my meds...i didn't want any of that other shit. I ended up on methadone. My original plan was to go back to an older pain management dr after the turn of the yr and i didnt. I just stuck with the methadone because I was doing okay...i have a counselor and attend groups too. So no ...its not just a crutch. Yes I am clean and for 12 years almost. They do try to steer you off, but don't force you... depending on your situation. I know tons of people who started off this way and ended up not on anything. But they could do that, they didn't have any physical or medical underlying problems. So before you are quick to judge why dont you ask around why dont you do some research. As for people who don't have these underlying issues and stay on it...it is better than needles and drug use in an unsupervised situation, better than theft or sharing paraphernalia and spreading diseases like hep and hiv. One thing is a fact....ADDICTION, no matter what or how the reason, IS A DISEASE. IT AFFECTS EVERY PART OF YOUR BODY AND MIND. NOT JUST MENTAL BUT REAL PHYSICAL. Opiates chemical structure mimics the neurotransmitter. It tricks the receptors and activates nerve cells. This is science not b.s.! WE will never understand it to its fullest 100%. And on an even deeper mental level, a true understanding, it is just so far out in left field! Seriously...you don't know the situation of a person so don't be so quick to judge.🥰

I've been CLEAN from opiates for 7 years and I thank God every single day for methadone, it saved my life, allowed me to regain custody of my son and live an overall better life. Of course there will always be those with the mindset that methadone is trading one habit for another but nothing could be further from the truth!! Methadone doesn't make me high, it doesn't make me spend my last dollar on a fix, it doesn't make me sell my body for more, doesn't make me unable to care for my child, I could go on and on but you get the picture.

It seems that she's doing good.I looked her up on her Facebook.she's now a mother (just had her baby like this month) her hair is longer and she looks pretty healthy. I really hope she stays on this path. She's got a good heart and soul and clearly wants to get clean. I'm proud to see she's doing better and I hope she only goes up from there. It's the same Jamie, you can tell from her pictures. I'm just glad to see within the past couple of months how far she's gotten. Even if she's got a long way to go she's coming far away already. You're really making a difference Tom. Even if it's just delivering packages to helping out with little necessity items it's a difference, it counts and matters.

That got to me a lot worse than I would’ve expected so I can’t imagine how you feel. Thank you for reminding these ladies you’ve got their backs. Thank you for being a soft place for them to fall. I hope she does rehab again.Addicts have big egos yet low self esteem. It’s mainly a disease of emotions and any little thing can set them off. The window in which an addict is willing to get clean is very small. In program, they talk about the gift of desperation. Everyone has a different bottom or reason for desperation. It’s good you are willing to help with a ride to rehab but be careful. I’d guess most addicts that will call will be trying to get out of some situation they caused and not go to rehab. They may owe some thugs money etc. These addicts are 10 miles in the woods and need to come out 10 miles. A rehab is just the tip of the iceberg. It takes a long time to repair all the damage they caused. What these cities need to do is have outreach workers that are around daily. The workers need to be recovering addicts and have at least 5 years clean. People on the street will see their faces and learn to trust them. They should have connections to rehabs/mental health/hospitals and any other help. Also, work with the police but don’t tell them anything unless someone’s life is in danger. Only another addict knows how they think and feel.

@@ChosenWon what I am referring to specifically...is belittling/putting down...and arguing with...those who are successfully beating a past opiate addiction with the help of MAT(maintenance assisted treatment program, with either methadone or suboxone). I remember seeing him doing it in comments to one user in particular...a lovely lady with the user name somethin like "love me some dimebag/a dimebag". Saying that "knock it off, you people arent clean, shut up and get over yourselves, you are just switching to another drug" and on and on, etc. Not exactly what i would call just a healthy discussion or dialogue, ESPECIALLY when a huge part of the viewership here...are folks who are fighting for HOPE for getting their LIFE BACK...and many times...the help of a medically assisted treatment program IS THE KEY TO OPENING THE DOOR TO GETTING SAID LIFE BACK!! TRULY! then for any of these people to come on, and read comments such as that...well. discouraging and stigmatizing to say the least. Just my 2 cents bud.🤷‍♀️

But my health is poor and I know in my heart if I'd done things differently ...I would be a 1000% better health and shape.
