Coating safe?
@ethanblan4359 ай бұрын
Yes
@TheBreakfastLover9 ай бұрын
The pH of crystal wash is quite acidic at 2.4, while most coatings start to degrade at pH 2 to 3. So yes, it can damage coatings and best to dilute 1:10 to be safe. Also minimize the dwell time.
@ethanblan4359 ай бұрын
@@TheBreakfastLover with Crystal wash you want to use it straight, undiluted and let it dry on the surface. It’s a pretty mild solution and it is coating safe. pH often does not tell the whole story about a product. You can have a pH 8 product be very damaging, and likewise a pH 13 be safe. P&S themselves state to use straight and let crystallize on the surface, and they also say specifically that it can be used to unclog coatings.

How mucb do you need to pay attention to things like light overspray in slightly windy condition? As far as on glass, or trim? Any other surfaces that it might damage or etch? It didn't seem like in this video you cared too much about any light overspray misting on glass or platics...so is it safe then?

No hate. Honest question, but if you spray foam over a hardened layer of product, in my mind, the foam itself never touches the paint, thus sits on top of the layer of dry crystal wash, that also now has contaminants in it, only to be rinsed off. What would the foam do?
@JamieTheCleaner9 ай бұрын
@@rojoeclipse94 the crystals would dissolve as soon as the foam touches it 👍 so the now free contaminants would then be even more broken down by the pre soak and safely rinsed away

I have another lightweight acid that’s similar I got from Xtreme Solutions some years ago, works similar but you can also use it in a bucket as well to help with the contact wash, works great as a first step pre rinse better than just APC imo. I like that this is getting more traction, I think it’s an excellent product, especially for super hammered cars and spring cleaning applications after a long winter. How do you feel about using this rinseless? I tried it a few days ago on my car (rear wheels back) and it seemed to work really well to rid the paint of the salt residue. I sprayed it on and proceeded to do my wash on the rest of the car, then I did a heavy presoak over top, contact washed with a legacy sponge, and then did another wet down with rinseless afterwards before drying.
@JamieTheCleaner9 ай бұрын
Nice ima have to try it Rinseless style 💪🧼
@larsenttif9 ай бұрын
It is something that confuses me here: So, a pre treat with rinseless wash would emulsify and incapsulate dirt, then it's safe to rinse away. Crystal wash "crystalises" the dirt, then it's safe to rinse away. In general what's the difference except for the fact that one stays wet and the other one dries? Does Crystal wash attack different kind of dirt or something?
@JamieTheCleaner9 ай бұрын
Yes Crystal wash is attacking embedded contamination stuck in the paint 👍 Rinseless is encapsulating the surface dirt 👍
