It is never bigoted to exclude people from your dating pool for any reason (be it a "preference," "orientation," "sexuality," or what have you), because you always have the absolute right to say no to anyone for any reason at all or no reason at all. Anyone who says otherwise is arguing for rape.

I still can't believe the Super Straight thing was started by a 16-year-old kid. That is, I can't believe a 16-year-old child, who is too young to even consent to sex, or only barely old enough at best, has already experienced so much pressure to "examine [his] genital preferences" that he would even think of this. That's completely bizarre and noncey.

@@leafleafleaf9272 Quite so. Shortly before SS hit, I complained that, at the rate things were going, Gay Sex 101 classes would require a section on female-coded anatomy. After a lot of pushback, I did eventually win the discussion by coming up with the term "gay heterosex" on the grounds that letter-after-O-in-letter-after-U is not same-sex conduct.

Nobody gives a fu¢k if they're labeled "homophobic", or "transphobic", by "trans" activists, and LGBTHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ "allies". These phrases don't actually mean anything. They're misnomers, and nobody with a functioning brain should ever, ever, ever use them. People are inherently, naturally and instinctively repulsed by perverted, sexually deviant behaviour, which is why they find sodomy and gender appropriation distasteful.

They were doing this tactics against h0mosexual people, especially lesbians, for decade now, but no one is listening to lesbian outcry. They were saying that h0mosexuality is transphobic, that lesbians must sleep with "transwomen before surgery and hormones" (so just straight men, who just Self-ID as woman). And now seems they finally decided to attack heterosexual people too. Sorry for writing h0mosexual with 0 instead of O, but few weeks ago Google added word "h0mosexual" into profanity filters and now comments with it are being automatically deleted under some channels. As a gay man it pisses me off. H0mosexuality is not a dirty word, we are not some "profanity".

Last time I checked it had about 30k members, someone had posted how the #SuperStraight was banned on tiktok and I knew it was only a matter of time before reddit did the same. Checked just now, and no surprise 'This community was banned for promoting hate towards a marginalized or vulnerable group'. They were not hateful in the slightest, was mostly memes about how superstraights are cute and valid, and how they respect trans people, they just don't want to be forced to date them because of their sexuality. But we all know this by now, if you don't agree with TRAs you are by default a hateful bigot.

I don't care that it was a 16 year old boy who came up with #SuperStraight - I'm happy if it gets people talking about it. I have no idea what that boy's experiences were prior to feeling the need to assert his sexual orientation but this stuff can be very in-your-face if you are a lesbian. 5 years ago my whole friendship group and extended community really drank the gender kool-aid. They started posting stuff online about how if you say you are attracted to women but you don't include transwomen, then you are transphobic. I felt like I had to just go along with it when some of the men in my social circles decided they were women. Some identified as lesbians and I was pressured to not ever challenge these assertions. None of them seriously hit on me after announcing they were trans (which I wasn't actually worried about them doing) but I had a male (calling himself genderqueer) housemate defend the concept of the cotton ceiling (as in, told me he thought the original workshop was totally fine) to my face. Another male friend (mtf) told me he was going to continue to medically transition until I found him attractive. (It was supposed to be a joke but seriously - wtf?) Most turned on me when they realized I wasn't onboard with everything that was being said. I don't care if other women want to date transwomen but there are still going to be females who are only attracted to other females and we need to be able to talk about our sexuality without being labeled bigots. It's really damaging for people to insinuate that other people's sexual orientation is at best narrow minded and at worst hateful. I wasn't even that young when all this was happening, I was around 29! I can't imagine what this is doing to teenagers (especially girls) who are just figuring themselves out and don't want to be ostracized socially. I am definitely not the only person this kind of thing has happened to. In fact, from what I have read and seen, I think it is happening in many fringe communities in most major cities in most of the world.

One trend I've noticed, is that if a TRA challenges someone's assertions, and is in turn countered with enough proficiency, they will invariably then shift the goalposts to saying "it's not a huge deal/doesn't happen that often/oh I have not personally seen that" and stop responding.

I never understood why is being trans in the same category with gay/lesbian/bi in the first place, why are they in the same activist group? because trans is not about "who you love", but its about "who am i". And i understand that transgender people are very often gay, but they are very often artists, pet lovers ... whatever else and that's not in the same category of activist group. Is the problem that they can't make a difference in between identitty and sexuality? Because they are completley different things for me, so i don't understand why for them it's connected so much.

In the early days of the gay rights movement, the T was broadly made up of effeminate homosexual men (some might even say ‘super gay’) or butch lesbians who felt more comfortable living as the opposite sex, some even hoping to blend in with ‘straight’ society and perhaps attract straight men and women to settle down with. T also used to encompass transvestites and drag queens/kings. @king critical hope you feel better soon. Anxiety is a real bugger.

It pretty much boils down to insecurity. Trans people have a very limited amount of potential partners. So the push (which is becoming more and more extreme) for people to ignore genitals when they define sexuality is happening. The idea of people pushing a movement like super straight, as jokey as it is, sounds like a threat because it goes against their whole attempt to expand straight sexuality. Thus, they call people transphobic for not wanting to have sex with them. It actually sounds a lot like how incels argue.
@LordZurkov

I mean, I haven't heard anybody say you have to sleep with trans people if you don't want to. You're allowed to not sleep with them the same way someone might choose not to sleep with brunettes or Cubans or aspies or whatever. What they want is to be acknowledged as the gender they are. I'm a cis guy, and the rare occasions I get misgendered are vaguely unpleasant. I'd imagine it'd be dramatically more unpleasant if it happened constantly, even ignoring stuff like gender dysphoria.

The idea you would need a cheek swab to see if someone is trans or cis is presuming that they're going to fully lie to you about their status if you ask them. People know without genetic testing whether they still identify as or have transitioned from the gender they were born as. The only reason you would know and I wouldn't know after I asked you is because you blatantly mislead me.

@@the.meandering Less than half a percent of people have different chromosomes than you would expect them to have, and most of that small bit of people know who they are by adulthood. The idea it's such a toss up and as mystery is something peele supporting trans ideology like to say to downplay the importance of biology by implying it's much more capricious than it actually is. For the other 99.8% of people, if they're xy they're born with a penis and testicles and if they're xx they're born with a vagina and ovaries.

@@the.meandering The way they talk about how you just can NEVER KNOW without all kinds of genetic testing something that has as many readily apparent secondary features you can see when a person is fully dressed, much less without throwing anything under a microscope is so absurd! They must imagine a world where everyone is like the protagonist of Carrie and they don't even know periods are a thing that's supposed to happen if they're female and one day, when they're nearly old enough to be graduating high school, they start bleeding and screaming in a locker room and that's how the ones that notice figure out their chromosomes lol. If it was so unclear whether an adult was biologically male or female without stripping them or swabbing them, then I have to imagine transition would be a much less involved process.

The whole "we can't SEE chromosomes so you can't base your sexuality on them" is honestly so funny to me, cause 1) it's incorrect, people don't base their sexuality on "chromosomes" and 2) YOU CAN'T SEE GENDER IDENTITY EITHER. You can see it even less actually, because chromosomes can in fact be seen and are a proven scientific fact. Seriously, it's such a weird argument and I don't understand how they don't realise that it falls apart so easily.

Also, superstraight might be a joke, but the points behind it stands on its own. LGB people actually joined in on the fun, supergay, superlesbian, superbi, because the point isn't that "straight people are oppressed", the point is that we as a society have gotten to a point where you cannot express your sexual orientation without being harassed. It's ridiculous, so of course this response is rather ridiculous as well. I have to say that preference doesn't equal sexuality. You aren't asexual due to a preference, you experience sexual attraction differently. Same as with being homosexual or bisexual. Sexuality is based on attraction and not preference. If you do not see transgender women (for example) as women, no need to make the sexuality/ make the difference. About a year and a half ago, I tried flirting with a cute transgender girl I had come across online, and this ultimately resulted in her calling me a "chaser" and blocking me from her TikTok. Less than a month later, the SuperStraight thing happened, and this girl was incensed by it. Apparently, even if you ARE interested in transwomen, it can ALSO be a problem. If you're not interested in dating trans people, you're a transphobe. If you ARE interested in trans people, you're a chaser/fetishizer.

If Trans Women are Real Women why do they call themselves Trans Women? If there’s no such thing as biological sex, why do Trans Women identify as women? The lack of clarity at the heart of discussing Trans Women isn’t a bug - it’s a feature.

Jamie doesn’t understand that chromosomes are mechanisms of sex differentiation, they are blueprints for how sex develops. But they are not biological sex in/of themselves. Re the focus being on Super Straight people: it’s EXACTLY why she made the video only about super straights and did not reference the Super Gays/Lesbians. She cannot make the same criticisms.

You can use the same saying about teenagers being treated like adults to resolve this. You know the one about "Usually when teenagers whinge about being treated like a grown up, is because they ARE being treated like adults"? Ironically They are complaining because they ARE being treated like women. 😂😂😂😂 discounted discredited disbelieved... etc etc.

My surgery started doing same-day appts exclusively after it got took over by a private company, it went downhill in multiple other ways after that too, and even if you phone at 8am you're stuck on hold and when you get through all the appointments are gone, you can't book in advance any more, didn't realise that was a more universal thing. Not even tried making an appt for nearly 2 years now. (Also heterosexuality and homosexuality are "new" sexualities LOL k I started off trying to be compassionate with them but now I dgaf because it's never reciprocated, don't worry about it. Re. your health anxiety: I am a sufferer too and have been for years. I can remember fearing sickness and death intensely from as early as age 5-6, in reception class. I went through a really rough patch recently, with heart palpitations and panic attacks, constant fear of developing cancer etc. It's gone quiet since about the Autumn though, and I credit 3 things for that: 1) magnolia bark extract capsules 2) omega 3 supplements 3) reading a CBT self-help book on anxiety that made me examine my thoughts more closely (I know you've done CBT before but maybe a self-help book may be of use) 4) repeating mantras to myself to push anxiety away - one good one is "those who live in the past are depressed; those who live in the future are anxious; only those who live in the present are content". Maybe these strategies won't help at all, but I thought I'd share them in case they can be of use to you and anyone else suffering with hypochondria.

21:50 I agree with you about the "not a choice" thing; it's one of those claims that it is taboo to dispute because it makes the argument easier, even though it is not actually true - which is why I steer clear of academic activists of all kind because they care more about results than truth. It puts me off the discourse with activists even for causes I care about, because how are you supposed to make sense of the world if even truth is forbidden to think? I know why the claim is made; it's to shut down religious morality arguments against gay rights, but it's seriously flawed since no religion has laws against being attracted to anyone; what they are likely to have religious laws about is sexual activity itself, and if that's not a choice you have serious problems! Why is it not possible to just say this harms no one and besides God's not real?!? The whole "it's not a choice" is a bit close to pathologization, so what is intended to be an anti-homophobic argument is close to a homophobic one. A preference, on the other hand, can't be a choice since preferences inform choices. You can choose whatever you like but you can't choose what it is that you like! I can't choose to like peanut butter, nor can I choose to not like pistachios, and if I chose to have peanut butter I could not choose to enjoy it. But that is a complicated truth and the lie is simple. But if we don't separate desire (for which we have no choice) from doing (for which we do) all actions would be permitted and that would create serious problems.

The same smell can be either pleasing or disgusting based on whether it is from a scrambled egg or a fart. Our perceptions are based on context. A straight person could find a transgender person attractive just as long he or she doesn't know this person is in fact a member of their own sex. Once it's known they just lose sexual interest altogether. That's exactly what sexual orientation is all about. In this case if you still have a sexual interest you're simply something other than heterosexual, pseudo-bisexual.. whatever, but there' nothing wrong with that anyways..

@@BJ.581 I will say that if you let the flight attendents know that you're a nervous flier it will dramatically increase your faith in the genuine compassion of strangers. The last flight I went on I felt like I was in first class, because I was just constantly being asked by flight attendants if I was doing ok and if I wanted anything. Unfortunately for me my family is somewhat inter-continental, which would make abstaining from flight entirely a bit of a challenge. Of course the problem with flying is that it isn't really something you can force yourself to get used to, because it's always going to be a somewhat irregular thing.

"Like literally saying 'i'm super straight now guys you can't call me transphobic anymore because i'm now a specific sexual orientation' That's not how it works" But if a heterosexual male says, "i'm a trans lesbian now guys you can't call me sexist or homophobic or say I have straight privilege or male privilege anymore" is totally how it works.

I'm old enough to remember the gay & lesbian rights movements of the 1960s and 70s. Trans people were not only NOT at the forefront, they were pretty much MIA. Most male transsexuals from back then like Jan Morris had nothing at all to do with gay rights, whilst some were were already actively trying to invade & dominate lesbian spaces. Some male transvestites in the 60s and 70s were involved somewhat, but not as leading figures. Coz they tend to be hyper-individualists, & quite narcissistic & temperamental - not good qualities for political activism.

Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences is such a funny thing to say. It seems correct but it also shows that the person saying it doesn't expect it be hurled right back at them. Like, you're free to do whatever you want, but if you kill a guy, you're gonna end up in jail, same logic. It more resembles the Christian notion of free will where you in fact are free to do as you choose except oops you're bound to look for sin at every turn as you do it and you're destined to go to hell if you misstep. A minor slip-up but it's a sign (among many) how lazy the rhetoric is. Irrelevant to the topic, just something that annoys me in mainstream liberal/leftist discourse.
