Jan Zwart (1877-1937): U bid ik aan, o Macht der Liefde (Ich bete an die Macht der Liebe) | By Rien

This is the third one of a collection of three Chorale Preludes. A few days ago I heard ‪@philippelegargean5120‬ playing the first one from this collection and I decided to download the score and play the third one with an all silky soft Dutch registration! The first part is played on one manual, the second part on two manuals with a solo in the Tenor, the third part has a clear fugal character and I think that part sounds amazing! I hope you like it!

How beautiful, with the Bätz organ in Utrecht this composition sounds very nice. I played it on a small pipe organ in Austria, where there were almost no acoustics. A very beautiful composition!

New (to me) composer - very good writing; beautifully registered and played. I very much enjoy the Dutch registration -- beautiful clear flutes with tremulant and a nice full acoustic.

Thanks! This is one of the “founding fathers” from the Dutch romantic/20th century chorale prelude tradition. Especially in the Dutch Reformed Protestant church.
