My favorite band of all time.........The grins on Perry and Eric's face says it all at 1:35. In all the footage of them from this point through the 2009 tour I don't recall the happiness on Eric's face as in this footage. Great video of a once great band

Amen. I'm 20, I had the pleasure of seeing Jane's Addiction at Lollapalooza when I was 15 or 16. The man who took me, a great friend, said it was great- but nothing like how they were in their prime. I thought they were amazing, and I've been a fan ever since

I'm so glad I got a chance to see them with Eric Avery back in the group. They didn't have the same raw, dark energy they had before. Now they sound very rehearsed and polished but still great. I would have loved to see them between the Nothing's Shocking/Ritual de lo Habitual period.

Un-fucking-believable. I'm going to see them on Sunday at Jones Beach. Will be my third show, and, goddam, am I psyched! Perkins just gets better and better; they simply rule. No other band, with the possible exceptions of the Doors and Zeppelin, reaches that Dionysian level.

I guess if you can tell me anyelse rock singer, with more than 20 years of career singing so great. Obviusly he is not singing as he did in his twenty, but he sing so great at his nearly 50, that is a pleasure to listen Jane's again. Don't make me compare he whith other singers of that generation (Cornell, or Kiedis) that really can't sing at his fifty.

@Theonlywaytobe I voted up on your comment in spirit, but I don't think it's so much about what they contributed but more their own originality and style. I think the essence of Janes Addiction holds a lot more power in itself that is worth more than what they contributed. Though you did tell the guy to go listen to Nothings Shocking to set him straight over Perry's voice, so you probably get that.

If you want a friend, feed any animal. The gang and the government are no different. A gang is a weapon you trade your mind in for. My sister and her boyfriend slept in a park, had to leave home because he was "dark", now they parade around New York with a baby boy... he's gorgeous. No one's leaving. EROTIC JESUS!!!!!!!! Great and glad you dig them. But I think the point was about a bunch of Gen Y-ers or whatever you guys are spossd to be called "not getting" stuff without investigating WHY they're (and were) so huge and important. No offense to your age you cant help when you were pushed rudely forth but even if you've liked them "for years" you weren't ALIVE when rock started NOT SUCKING again after YEARS of shite.

Mr. Perkins is a very influencial drummer to me, and he seemed a little off too. I know he's not out of practice, an off day for everyone... Maybe they got stuck with some fucking blue M&M's.
