Perry Ferrell is one of the best and funniest front guys ever. Some of his stage moves make me laugh! What a unique character! I hope he lives to be 90. Can you Imagine the stories he could tell about his rock star life? Even now I bet he has some crazy and incredible stories! And I’d like to hear every damn one of them.

I was blessed to have seen Jane's about a dozen times back in the day. Stephen Perkins always stood out. He's a great drummer. The other thing was the girls. The chicks of my generation who were into Jane's were the absolute greatest.

This band created two albums which were masterpiece works of art. These two albums were and are important works which history will look very kindly on. I see them in the same light as I see the genius of Joy Division's two landmark albums. These two bands were absolute brilliance......

For the person complaining about the phones, this concert was a documentary concert for the release of a 3D phone. Over 200 invitees plus 20 NYU Film students were given devices to record at various time slots throughout the show. All devices were later collected and downloaded for footage to be used in the 3D documentary of this concert.

I saw Jane's Addiction in 1991 at Leeds University students union and it still remains in my top 5 gigs of my life, only topped by Prince and Kate Bush. They were unbelievably good. I don't think there will ever be such a pair like Farrell and Navarro again.

I was threatened with a big flashlight and escorted outside by overzealous security guards from the Jane's show at the Tower theater in 1990 - right before the riot - for dancing. I'm proud of that. I left peacefully & hung out a while talking about life with two nice cops outside. Loved Jane's Addiction; They were a religious experience. They're all about life and love, and deep experiences. It was a beautiful time - College, Twin Peaks, Joseph Campbell, Patrick O'Hearn, and Jane's Addiction.

I remember listening to this song on a CD in a Car after seeing it live twice. Coming back from a 1990 Grateful dead show in Louisville and we were coming down the mountain. One of many children and for no one to just feel like we did and dance around makes me realize that the soul of humanity has truly died and we are the only ones left alive. ALIENS HAVE COME. SAVE YOURSELF. Cause if this doesn't get you moving aliens, nothing we have will. Sad. FUCKING SAD. I'm so .... DROP ME IN THE MIDDLE.

Not quite the original band, though. Eric Avery is not in this lineup. He and Perry couldn't settle their differences in the end. If you ask me, many of their songs would not be what they are without his bass parts. i.e. Summertime rolls, Three Days, etc.

Sadly that is possible especially with Dave Navarro-I get the vibe. And I checked out some of the music I liked over 30 years ago-Judas Priest. For the first time ever it made my hair stand on end. Not in a good way mind. And it sounded pretty much the same going backwards as forwards.

Even though Navarro and Pharell are too freaky for my taste I always thought Navarro was a good guitarist and Pharell has vocal range. For some reason Pharells vocals in this song remind me of Achilles Last Stand or Misty Mountain Hop by Led Zeppelin Just like plants vocals in those songs Perry's vocals in this song cascade over the song with improvisation with the "yeah yeah" and the "oh oh oh". I like it. 👍

What Is the Meaning of “A Camel Going Through the Eye of a Needle"? One of the most well-known Scripture passages about wealth is also one of the most confusing. Why does Jesus compare the wealthy with camels, and is He really saying that the rich won’t make it into heaven? The scene takes place in Judea, where Jesus has just finished an illustration about welcoming children into His Kingdom. A rich young man comes up to Jesus and asks Him how to inherit eternal life. Jesus tells the young man to keep God’s commandments, which the man quickly claims to have kept. “What do I still lack?” he asks. (Matthew 19:20) Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” -Matthew 19:21-24 What’s immediately obvious is that camels are far too large to fit through the eyes of needles. It’s ridiculous to even suggest it. So what is the meaning of that verse? Was Jesus really saying that rich people can’t enter the kingdom of God? Let’s look more closely at the passage to see what we can learn. Camels, Needles, and the Rich If Jesus was talking about an actual camel and an actual needle, then the rich are in big trouble. Commentaries suggest that He may have been saying something different. The Aramaic word for “rope,” kamilon, was almost identical to the Greek word for “camel,” kamelon, which appears in the verse. Some scholars say that the word was misspelled, and so Jesus may have been making an analogy to threading a thick rope through the eye of a needle, not a large animal. In other words, He may have been referring to something extremely difficult, but not impossible. Other commentators suggest that, at that time, there was a type of small gate called a needle. Still, others insist that Jesus’ statement was as absurd as it sounds, actually referring to our same notions of camels and needles. There are several potential explanations for what camels and needles could have meant in Biblical times. However, all of them point to the same lesson: Jesus said that it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, for a rich person to enter His Kingdom. In fact, when the disciples then speculate that no one can be saved, Jesus replies, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) Jesus himself settles the question: He was intentionally referring to something impossible.

Holy shit I just cross referenced and the resemblance is indeed uncanny. The claim is that the bass riff is from a cassette they recorded in the 70’s. No doubt Avery or Navarro picked this up even if subconsciously from the Priest. This is without a doubt a type of riff which seemingly couldn’t come without some outward influence. I’m sure even Priest picked up the lick somewhere even if it was some 500 year old traditional music. I must admit that I’m astounded at this moment. I have this and Revolution playing back to back and it’s undeniably reflected by Jane’s Addiction. Obviously not the whole song, but the riff’s hammer ons and pull offs are exactly the same. Damn. Sorry Eric Avery and Navarro. Damn damn damn. Still awesome. But damn damn damn. You listen to them back to back and even Stephen Perkins is playing it the same, mostly. Wow. Just when I thought I had a clue, turns out I can still be blown away. Several of my dearest friends will be heartbroken. There is no god. For sure now. Like no god at all. Not anymore.
