When Jerry went on the record about incentivizing coach contracts, McCarthy wasn’t interested. Who would take that deal with Jerry’s horrible GM decisions.
@davidroman1654Күн бұрын
In reality that is how every coach contract should be set up. Base pay at X amount. Bonus of X for each regular season win. Bonus of XX for playoff wins and a bonus of XXX for winning the SB. Prove yourself and you get paid the really big bucks. Fail and you don't make much. I would like to see all the player contracts set up the same way. This is your base pay, bonuses based on what you do on the field. Win get paid. If Dak really thinks he is worth $60 million then go $15 million base, $2 million per win. Playoffs 1st round bye $5 million, no bye then $3 million for winning first two round games, $5 million for conference championship, and $10 million for SB win. With 14 wins he would make and SB win would make at least $60 million.
@larrymelear544621 сағат бұрын
@davidroman1654 If that’s the case, said contract should also read that the GM will do everything possible to sign available FA’s within the cap. You know, like the Eagles, SF and a number of other teams do?

Why do coaches think they should get an extra year or two added to a contract? Mike won games in three season but was a complete failure in the post season. The NFL is not about regular season it is about post season. He was given a chance to prove himself and failed. So if Jerry, or other owners, extend a contract knowing that the coach is probably in a make or break year, the owner is just looking a paying a lot of money to someone they might in fact be firing. MM was given a 5 year deal and the bottom line was Jerry expected better results in the post season and it didn't happen. His team, his money, his choice to make this move. Not crazy about the past 25+ years but Mr. Jones has not asked me or any fan, what we want him to do. Until you own the team you will just have to live with any owners decisions or find a new team.

The truth is we just really don’t have a talented group of players as a whole. With JJ and his personality, it’s always gonna be about him. Whoever takes over is gonna have to cut a lot of projects. Players that don’t even belong there that should be just backups and start over too many retreads and has beens. In order to win the Super Bowl jerry needed to let go Prescott, but he ended up throwing away a mountain of money on a back up quarterback.
@TO-dl2ggКүн бұрын
And that’s why they don’t seem to have a plan ..Paying Dak means they’re committed to him and should’ve just kept McCarthy for continuity purposes and now they’re going to start over and rebuild with an aging injury prone Quarterback that by the time they’re ready to turn the corner this qb is even older and ready for the commentators booth … The plan is there is no plan!
@JOERANSTRAIGHTКүн бұрын
@ my problem with Mr. Prescott is he seems to have a mental breakdown when the playoffs show up he can get you there but there’s something in his head that’s not right and he folds in on himself. We had all the pieces years ago. It’s done now. My opinion is, we should offer to trade him. Take a hit on the calf and move up to get a quarterback and start over. You don’t need some super powerful arm. You just need a little bit of mobility and someone smart enough to know double and triple coverage is not a good option. It’s better just to throw it out of bounce. Try again later when someone’s open. He telegraphs his THROW S Way too often. He is in the injury prone years and he’s gonna be nothing but a headache, the rest of his career. My hope is that we can get the Browns to take him off our hands, but that window may be closed now.

@@JOERANSTRAIGHT I agree with you on that ..I great organization would’ve known how to massage that situation between Romo and Dak…Front office was giddy to have a starting QB on a rookie deal and to quick to move on from Romo ..Should’ve started Romo in that playoff game for one especially since the team was built around him for playoff success it’s why they drafted Zeke and more than likely wouldn’t have fallen behind 20-3 in that game vs GB ..Next season should’ve started off with Romo as the starter with of course Dak knowing he was the heir apparent and definitely would’ve had his chances to start knowing Romo’s increasing injury rate and it would’ve done wonders for Dak’s game to learn behind Romo but that’s what winning organizations do and cheapskate Stephen was enamored with the idea of a cheap QB and it basically was the down fall of Garrett era in my opinion..Think of it this way how do you think 80’s, 90’s 49r dynasty would’ve handled it ? I've been saying since week six of last year that this was not mccarthy's offense. 75% shotgun when WC is 75% under center. Way too many deep routes. The wrong formations. McCarthy came out trying to run WC til week 6 of last year and then suddenly after the bye the Moore offense was back.
@sammyslam1Күн бұрын
What's so interesting and frustrating is that when Cooper Rush plays, they make a commitment to playing to their roster. I'm not sure why they so often stray away from a more simplistic scheme with shorter route trees, when Dak is at the helm? The line simply isn't good enough for a lot of the stuff they like to run when Dak is under center and besides Cee Dee, there really aren't any other man beaters(i'm not sure Cee Dee is either to be honest but he's clearly better than everyone else) As much as we all like and respect Cooks, he is no longer a man beater. I think Turpin "might" be at some point but not now, needs lots of reps and even then? I think Dak is very good at the spread offensive system Kellen Moore ran but it requires a top o-line, an explosive runner(or grinder) and multiple weapons at the skill positions. However i think Dak would be best suited to a play action system. When i watch him play he is more in line with drop back guys. That's how i would proceed with him at qb.

@sammyslam1 sure... but the problem there is its very difficult to run for power from shotgun when the entire defense can see the RB and have early warning when it's a run. You end up telegraphing " they're under center it's a run, they're in gun it's a pass".
@sammyslam1Күн бұрын
@timothyarnold1679 ...we agree on that. Disguising tendencies is very important. There are some tough decisions to make for sure. For me there are 3 improvements to make regardless of head coach or schemes/concepts. #1) Offensive Line #2) Running Back #3) Defensive Line(interior) I'm not as high on the late defensive improvements/effort under Zimmer as others. I remember how poorly they played when healthy on that side of the ball against quality offenses and this started under Dan Quinn not just Zimmer. I think the entire thing needs to be freshened up but definitely something more similar to Quinn's scheme and philosophy is preferred because they emphasized causing turnovers. It's up to Jerry and Stephen. I hope they at least identify the roster disparities and focus on those.....the head coach will likely succeed if the personnel issues are solved

Best thing that could happen is coach McCarthy and company getting out. Doesn't matter if coach deserves being fired or not. Coach can find another job but what about a young HC under Jones. A career killer or at the least a huge setback

Haha 30% back for season tickets holders hahaha

Perhaps McCarthy demanded more control of the team. If that's the reason he left, then nothing has changed here. We nay have more Super Bowl caliber seasons in the future, but without a firm foundation that demands excellene, we will never get past the divisional round, unless the NFC is very weak.

What about prime time? as the headquarters for dallasthe boys?
@steveweber7902Күн бұрын
deion wont come for a low ball contract offer. prime wants to be paid accordingly. also he would have to deal with the circus which is the dallas cowboys.

Dak actually handed MM and Rogers their only Super bowl. Mike owed Jerry. Remember, Dak refused to throw to the open receivers in that Green bay playoff game during the first half. That rookie season was Dak's opportunity to go to a Superbowl. I turned off the TV near the end of the 1st half because of Dak as best I remember. If I remember correctly, MM owes Jerry.

Jerry Jones never put a real team together..... Jimmy Johnson put that superbowl run into place. And Berry Switzer benefited from it. Jerry Jones is real business man...But a horrible football person GM etc... He never had a clue. Just ask Jimmy Johnson

With Vrabel gone, Pete Carroll is the only retread that is acceptable. He will make the team better and he can cope with Jerry.

He's a good coach why take the bullsh.t from the Jones family if they don't want to give you power of the team...let Jerry run the team himself or sell the team.

Mike McCarthy is the winner here. Jerry Jones is a complete worthless 🤡🤡. Mike will land with a better and talent team.

Oh happy day! Snake oil salesman Mike McCarthy and Dak have been the problem all along, not Kellen Moore. Let him take his archaic coaching system elsewhere! J.J was foolish for letting Mike Vrabel sign with the Patriots.

GOD SAVED MIKE VRABEL. GOD BLESSED YOU. DO YOUR BEST! DAK Shouls not have a say so, play better like a veteran , not like a rookie. Practice on your accrucey and pre-snap reads. Move better in the pocket, show some durability & emotion! Be a leader not a follower.DAMN! I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE THE HIGHEST PAID Player in the league. You pull a hamstring like your motor is fast. Take 15 steps a pop, man get in some shape. The only, the only Quarterback to pull a hamstring off the bonewlking fast. No shifting, no Guinness & you go down like a 12 Guage shot gun Give that money back or help some minority families at least. Keep it moving and mov back up in the woods with custom built trailers.
