Where Brian uses cashews, I use steamed cauliflower. It's a delicious, creamy, low-fat, nitric oxide rich dish. Using nuts seems to dilute Dr. Esselstyn's message but to each his own. I use scissors to mince greens and lettuce, as Brian does. To me, they taste a lot better in small bits rather than in big old chunks. Oh, yes, we Do want it swimming in sauce. I love that baking dish--so pretty! Peas are good in this dish, too. Thank you for an interesting video.

I have a question but first let me give you a little background since June of 2021 I've had a stroke in two heart attacks. I just bought the book while the cookbook I didn't buy the other book I bought the cookbook and I need to lose about 120 lb do I adjust what I eat or can I eat all the recipes here? Somebody said the some of the recipes are to reverse some of them are to prevent.
@carl135792 жыл бұрын
There are actually two different diets here: Plant Strong (which includes Rip & Jane Esselstyn's books) and Plant Perfect (which is by Caldwell & Ann Esselstyn, the parents). You want the Plant Perfect diet. It is worth getting the book "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" by Caldwell Esselstyn. It includes the correct diet for you, explains why we know it works, and provides recipes. Basically, you need to keep your calories from fat to about 10%. This means, for example, that the recipe in this video is a no-no for you (because of the cashews). You also want to avoid coconut, avocado, and other high-fat foods. Otherwise the diets are similar - plants only, mostly whole plants, no added salt or sugar. Most important (to quote Caldwell Esselstyn): NO OIL!
@susanyounkin41922 жыл бұрын
