In no way is there any monetary gain expected from the use of Mercedes Benz or the Howard Smith Tapes/Janis Joplin Interview. No advertising revenue, nodda!

The day she recorded Mercedes Benz was the same day as Jimi Hendrix's funeral in Seattle.

No shit? Interesting, you gotta wonder if that was something beinv chatted about in the studio at SSRs that day..

I can't watch a Dodger Broadcast without zooming around on Google Earth noting all the historic locations in relation to Dodger Stadium. LA is a fascinating place. Today I was listening to Cigarette Man's stories about Skid Row while i ran my hunting dog in the icy, muddy spring fields. Great Channel Captain.

Me too, Ive been fascinated with that town since my parents lost me on Venice beach when I was 6 for hours! Incredible history, I go there every chance I get

@@lesterdiamond6190 I saw that, recent Netflix thing. What a weird hotel. A lot of LA and other American cities have divey hotels like the Cecil, we just ignore the problems. Usually in dt areas

@@CaptainBorax I'm sure you've already seen it but another fascinating film is "Manson- The Notorious Crime and Trial" narrated by Bill Kurtis. He witnessed history.

Wow, that's great Cap. Very haunting. I loved Janis, she was a real straight shooter. I lost a good buddy of mine to heroin, funniest and nicest guy you'd ever wanna meet. He was only 41. Heroin is a bitch of a drug! Thanks for this one!

@@CaptainBoraxI hear ya. BTW, I noticed a slight resemblance (verbally, way of talking and inflection) between Janis and Marin Beveridge, they both speak in a similar, no-nonsense style! Love it!
