I can't believe people are getting so upset just because they don't get to see the engine running. All your videos are entertaining and the comments themselves are getting that way . As for an hour being too long.... takes me longer to find my shed keys some times!

When it did fire it only gave one puff. That leads me to think it's only going on one cylinder. Take the belt off may help, bung a bit of juice down the plug holes it you get a series of puffs then go after the carb. Jim in NZ.

Kelter.....? It's a word my dad used a lot, but where it's from would be anybody's guess. One side of my dad's family came from Norfolk, Wymondham, to be precise, and the other side of his family were from West Yorkshire, Leeds/Tadcaster, but, he served his army years in Scotland, Edinburgh to precise. Now, he picked up a lot words in Scotland. I was born North side of York, and the word "kelter" was commonplace when I was just nipper - especially when it came down to our toys and things, implying that they were rubbish, and usually used in anger - "You can get that bloody kelter cleared up, or it's all off in the dustbin"..... Or as in your case, when we went to York Auction Centre "By God, there's some bloody kelter here today!". Definitely a common and familiar word in my vocabulary.

Try swapping the plug leads? Sounds like it's trying to fire at TDC on the exhaust stroke. We had the same with my "55" and ended up having to retime the rotor arm, and get the plug leads in the correct orientation - they were 180 degrees out of time. And, just like yours, all it would do was to trump and fart with the occasional half hearted pop!

Excellent Video as always Adam, just a suggestion couldn't you plug a compressor in near the house and run an airline up into the shed as a temp measure?

Once I've got a spark, I like to throw a little go juice into the spark plug hole and give it a spin to see if it'll run for a second or two - at least then you know you've got good enough spark and timing and can look at the fuel system... It's a bit of a "one thing at a time" sort of thing for me. And also some 40 ish grade oil, just to get some seal around the piston rings and valve seats should they need it after years not running.

It would be lovely to get an engine running straight away after not running for several years, though unfortunately with these old characters it can take time and sometimes it can take a while to get parts for them. A lot of people enjoy the process of getting an old engine cleaned up and running. Thank you for you for watching
@joesangalli8824 ай бұрын
He is actually showing that not everything ends in a happy engine running. It takes time and effort to start something that has set up so long. Struggling to start an old engine is reality. To state what you have is showing that you do not understand what it takes to handle such a task. Try to enjoy what he does and learn that what he does is not always that easy.
