Yes a jaw dropping video, what a collection, booodiful. My dads back yard was a similar state, stables and outbuilding all derelict, he was into large scale demolition (power stations, gas works...the dockers umberella in Liverpool too) and brought lots of interesting stuff home, it took me 5 years to clear it all and restore the house, sadly the internet didn't exist then , it would have been a great tool for me. I grew up on demo sites and have a love for Ruston Bucyrus cranes, I would love an old Ruston stationary engine..... ah, one day.

This one has to be the best so far, and you've put up some great ones in the past. To be able tp walk around all that history must have been a delight, so wish I was there with you. Good to hear that those historic engines have gone to some good homes. Looking forward to you doing up those you've bought, bring it on.

What a fantastic invite you had. Chefin’s auction would make sure, a lot of it gets a good home, including Drew Pritchard in Wales would be interested in some of the fair ground stuff? There’s also Turner’s Steam Fairgrounds still travelling the countryside would have knowledge on a lot of the fairground stuff and value of it. Would be worth getting in touch with them. May even be interested in purchasing stuff from the new owners. Would be worth advertising in Stationary Engine magazine, plus the other Magazines Kelsey publishing. That caravan was something else. Such a wonderful treat for all too see. I see you have much knowledge on station engines me too. I think last count was about 52 engines so I’m not alone. ✔️👌

At the beginning of the 1960's I started work as an apprentice joiner fr a firm called Dovedale Caravans in Blackpool. A firm that disappeared 50 yrs ago swallowed up by another company. While I was there we built several showmans caravans and were always head and shoulders above touring and static caravans we made. Invariably the interior surfaces were covered in a popular material of the time called Formica, an expensive plastic laminate. I think three or four five litre cans of contact adhesive was used in each caravan. This one is built on a similar style. They were hand built and made to last.
