When it comes to pronunciation, I would say the issue is that Japanese people are too familiar with the American accent. In fact, from watching some videos and based on my own experience, I've noticed that many individuals are not accustomed to English or Australian accents. For instance, I watched a video of interviews with several people who were born and bred in Japan but are currently working overseas. Viewers commented, 'This person has excellent pronunciation,' but for me, everyone was good. But actually in that video only that person had an American accent and others had Australian accents. That was all there was to it. Additionally, when I started learning English in the 2nd grade of elementary school, my accent was completely American, but over time, my curiosity has gone for an Australian accent, and I started practicing it to spend lots of time. However, after changing my pronunciation, some people questioned, 'Is your accent correct?' so many times since they’re not used to an Australian accent. If people, especially those in Japan, could embrace these variations in pronunciation, we all would be able to speak English more confidently. Sorry for the lengthy sentence.
