BTW bawz, the crafting event had some info on the missile and it has to do with the model of radio receiver it used saying that it could have input that is like 0 to 100% only while the gyro was designed to return it to being level meaning that they had to zig zag the missile into the target.

Well, the reason the missile wants to fly in a level flight, is simply due to being an anti ship missile, missile would effectively be aimed to fly close to the surface of the water so the missile could easily crucial parts of the ship, and you very much want this missile to be level in flight and not slightly dip into the water and become useless

No, that's not what he's saying. What he's saying is it DOESN'T fly level. If you stop giving control input it will put itself into a climb and climb back up to level off at the altitude it was launched from. So if you launch it at 2,000 feet AGL, then control it down to 20 feet AGL and STOP pressing the dive button, it will climb on it's own back to 2,000 feet AGL. It's just a broken mechanic that is of course quality tested by Gaijin...which means not at all.

This way you cab just be above the surface of the water, launch the missiles and fly off, you dont need to worry about it crashing into the water because it would always correct its path to be level

From what I’ve seen, it actually works great against player ships with detailed DMs. The simplified DMs of AI controlled ships in air test flights and battle maps screws them up.

Yup this works with nearly all big bombs and missiles. Attacking from above the damage gets eaten by the crap on the deck like guns / sights etc, from the side you cause serious damage. @@tsp5590

I can't wait to test this extensively on Naval. If things stays like this, launching about sea level should make for an interesting antiship missile to send out from 10 km to stay safe 😏 Just gotta gauge if you can hope to damage something like battleships. For sure the italian ones being narrow and less armored might make good targets.

I’ve been trying that in test drive the issue is at range its really hard to tell if the missile is 1ft or 50 ft above the waves. A lot of times I either crash into the water 100 yards from the ship or fly 20 ft over the ship.

This thing is basically just a worse B7A2. Having a bombsight and a 800kg bomb on a fast plane like that makes it far easier to use then the guided missile. Just sorta funny that there are two Japanese event premium bombers coming out at basically the same time and one is just hilariously better then the other.

I really wish Gaijin would add more variants of the Fw 200 C. The C-1 variant in game is a total crap version, models like the C-3 get at least one MG151/20 or MG131 for defense, and in a full rotating turret at that. Not to mention, the variants C-6 and C-8, which both have the improved armament, and could carry missiles or a search radar. Or the C-4, equipped with a search radar (the main reason why im interested). Oh yeah, they also got better engines as far as I know.

The thumbnail is very misleading. Any Japanese flying thing with a Ki would be Japanese Army. And under the directors of the First and Second Army Aviation Technology Institutes, Major Joubu Oomori and Major Ogasa Manchi (both are transliterated and I'm not sure if I got their names right), who said: "Developing a suicidal weapon that would 100% kill the operator is the incompetence of the developer." As such, the Japanese Army never developed suicidal weapons or tactics (yes they have collision attacks but those are theoretically survivable, just highly risky.) The type you played in WT is I-go Type 1B (イ号一型乙) that features a 300kg warhead. There was a separate project with a 800kg warhead called I-go Type 1A, which would probably be more suitable for the large warships you tried them on.

🤔 maybe it is like a cruise missile?, the Tomahawk flies low until it gets near its target, then climbs suddenly, rotates upside down, then dive bombs into the target....not only that, but them front wings seemed to be angled upwards slightly....i dunno, just speculating and throwing possibilities out there as to why it climbs while guiding it near the target....🤷

The turret cheeks, those bulgy squirrel cheeks near the gun are your best bet, that or the mail slot driver view unless you have solid shot or less than 120mm of pen. All kvs have very slow turret rotation, so a flank is good if you can get a side shot to disable it.

if you have different caliber weapons on your plane, it'll adjust all the guns' vertical aim to hit what your targeting distance is set to, some players prefer to have it off because shooting at something farther than the set distance will cause the heavier caliber to overshoot
