You can pick up my specially-made chopping board here! kimonofighter.com/products/champ-s-japanese-kitchen-board You can find the Damascus Steel knife I am using here! kimonofighter.com/products/champ-s-japanese-kitchen-knife Hey Guys! How did you like my butadon? It’s a popular fast food dish, like gyudon, but uses pork instead of beef! You have to give it a try at home! So let’s get cooking!

Would you ever consider producing a recipe book? Especially for Westerners wanting to cook delicious Japanese meals? I for one would buy one!

That's a dish which fits my taste perfectly and I think I can get all the ingredients in an asian supermarket without a problem :) Your videos are always great. I still use the sauce mixture of your Teriyaki video after I made it so many times

The way this is filmed is so much better than the older videos. The earlier ones felt a bit claustrophobic where you rarely saw Champ's face while cooking.

Underrated dish. Gyudon gets a lot of hype but butadon is cheaper and often times just as tasty!

Great recipe!! Thanks! just one little question.... what can one replace burdok with? what has a similar taste &/or texture? Burdok is something that's not easily found here in Belgium? thank you in advance! :)

Chicory root, lotus root, or even parsnips might work
@morlock2086 Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I will try with parsnips. @@Omni0404

To add to the other comment, the texture is also very similar to a palm heart and bamboo shoots, though of course these two ingredients have their own strong aromas

Would it be possible to make this with pork loin instead of belly?
@eatlikealocal Жыл бұрын
In this preparation, Pork Loin will more likely result in a tough and dry texture after cooking.
@Trueshogunate Жыл бұрын
@@eatlikealocal yeah, I guess that would make sense. I'll probably stick with stir fry then, or roasts. I have a ton of pork loin I'm hoping to use up lol.

@riaz8783 that is not what is meant by unclean.

It's fine to eat pork. If you've ever gotten sick from it, maybe you got a bad product or you cooked it wrong. Just an idea.
