The history and highlights of Japanese Idols in the 20th century, setting the guidlines for J Idols to the present.
In part 2, we go over the modern era, as AKB48 joined the scene in 2005 and changed the way idols are produced to this day.

The song that starts playing in the background at 4:06 till the end of the video is a Chinese song but the video is about Japanese idols…You could’ve just picked a random Jpop song instead of a what was used…..😐

I had a lot of copyright problems with this series, and music was constantly changed in editing, plus the person helping me with editing doesn't speak Japanese, and I missed it in final editing. Thanks for pointing it out. I plan on making an updated full version combining all 4 parts with fixes and additional info.

When you say Japanese Korean idols or Mikan idols, does that mean that they’re really Korean but want to be Japanese idols?

It's a general term, mostly used for groups that combine Korean and Japanese idols. Most are based in Korea and marketed to Japan, but sometimes can refer to Korean idols performing in Japan or visa-versa.

Interesting topics, but Im surprised you spent so much time on the 2012 game Y5 when it is directly inspired by the idol game series idolmaster (arcade 2000, xbox 2007) Also of all the vtubers marketed as idols in japan you picked a non-japanese one who is independent and doesn't call herself an idol lol (Filian)

Good points, but I only picked Y5 cause it's the only one I've played, and not cause I wanted to be an idol. I just love all the Yakuza games for their representation of Japanese culture as a hole. I was gonna add Hatsune Miku, also when talking about virtual idols, but saving recommendations for my conclusion vid. If you have any, i'd enjoy hearing them . Ultimately I'll do a full version of this series in one big video with any re- edits and new/bonus info so I definitely appreciate any insight or info.
