Looks stunning and perfectly fits my taste! I really like Makerel and all recipies with it :) How is the chilli blending in? Not overpowering the fish? Greetings!

A suggestion: A lot of japanese and chinese soy sauce based sauces use half light soy sauce, half dark soy sauce and half mirin, half regular rice wine by ratio of the total the sauce calls for. Adds layers of flavor to the sauce. Also, fresh ginger should be soft enough to skin it with the edge of a spoon. Prevents waste from the knife or peeler. If it's not that fresh, soak in water for a few minutes.

Bart, your channel is amazing and I am a big fan of your job. I always look the number of the views in your videos, because I think you deserve a huge number of access. That been said, what you think about making some subtitles in your videos? I propose because I am from Brasil, and I believe that a lot of people cannot watch your videos because they cannot understand the recipes, and this is sad. Think about it, and I wish a long live to your channel. Success!

One of my favourite fishes. Although haven't tried it sushi style as yet, don't know much about sushi really.Not a fan of mandelines, not keen on watching them being used either. Interesting video otherwise, like that the sauce can be used as a salad dressing as well. Thank You Bart

How long would this stay fresh in the refrigerator? If the Mackerel is cooked? Would cooking the Mackerel 1st ruin this recipe?

No. Don't you ever eat frozen defrosted fish. It has tons of bacteria on it and it will poison you! If you ever want to eat raw fish, it has to the most fresh you could get. I suggest you go to a certified fish store or eat sushi at a decent restaurant.

The acidity of the marinade will cook the fish a bit, but sushi also involves raw fish. If the fish is fresh enough it's no problem.

It's just same chemical cooking way like ceviche. fresh fish can even consumed as sashimi or sushi why not for marinaded fish with vinegar?
