Mmm, reminds me of some desert sandwiches I have sometimes. I love doing cream cheese + jam or sliced fruit on white bread, its almost like instant cheesecake! But deepfrying the bread first, thats a whole other level!

Not really. French toast is soaked in custard (usually eggs, milk and vanilla), preferably all the way through. If you think just frying a slice of bread is French toast, you don't actually understand what the dish is.
