Sora looks 24 yo, but in 2014 he was a teacher. Therefore, we can conclude he is a generational talent, if he managed to become a teacher at 14.

いいえ、違います。 Up until now, Sora is 31 years old. Therefore, in 2014, he was 22 years old, which is completely suitable for the labour market. Although it seems like he kinda lacks of 'formality' when it comes to academic setting, I still believe he's a really good, talented teacher :)

You know, that part about "shine" being "shi ne" (die)in Japanese reminded me of a rather sad story in Conan where a Japanese girl had an American boyfriend, and that boyfriend wrote that he wanted her to "shine like a star" and the girl though he asked her to go kill herself and she hanged herself. Then the boyfriend thought it was her family preventing them from being together and he want on to murder several of them until Conan solved the mystery behind the murders and the truth of why the girl hanged herself was revealed. Yea sorry if this is a little dark.

This actually has an even bigger misunderstanding in japanese, because saying a person or pet went to be a star in the sky is common when they die in japanese, just like saying they went to heaven in english.

this "shine" thing bring me back to one of case closed episode where the girl ask what does he thinks of her, while being an american he didn't know how to speak japanese and hand her a message "shine" meaning she is light/bright to him. But the girl thought she meant shi ne (死ぬ ) which is die in japanese after that she took her life.

I understand this situation completely. I can remember when I was teaching my little sister the word "Bus," she mispronounced it and said "Boos," which means kissing in Persian. By the way, there are also some Japanese words that are vulgar in Farsi if you mispronounce them. 😅 like "きり" , "きれい" ,"じしん" and "まめ." The first two words mean "dick, "the third one means "pee, " and the last means " big boobs. "

I teach Chinese kids English and I have a similar story. We were going over possesive pronouns. My student had to say, "The Couch is Nigel's. It's his." She had never heard of the name 'Nigel' before. So when she pronounced the G, she gave it a 'guh' sound instead of a 'juh'. That, combined with her accent switching the L sound with an R sound, and I was very quickly correcting her.

When we learned romaji in elementary school, one of my classmates realized that 死ね(die) is spelled as shine. He then convinced everyone including myself that shine means die in English. From that point on, shine became the goto word to address discontent whenever there was a fight. Kids are amazing.

This is basically a regular situation in an English Teacher's classroom, especially when the principal walks in. The kid's will say that Potato-sensei taught us these weird words in English, before you get to explain the meaning to the kids. Some of the kids will say 'just kidding!' soon afterwards, others may let the situation stew, others will not say anything, and you will get into hot water. Moreover, sometimes the principal would have been watching from the hallways, and then say ''It's okay Potato-sensei, I knew what you meant, I was watching from the hallway''...

I think, in that example with the words. You could have probably used it to lead into how English Speaker's pronounce their Vowels differently than Japanesse Speaker's do(Depending on the word sometimes.) But in the example of "Fun", the difference is that in English we first don't ad "Nu" to the end, but the main one is that instead of an "Ooo" sound for the U, it's an "Uh" sound instead. The same can be said for "Come", in japanese it makes sense to say it with an "Oh" sound, but in english you'd say it with an "Ah" sound instead and then you can tell them that E is silent in English when at the end of a word. There are a lot of words that an easy explanation is just behind how pronounce Vowels differently. Ah, Eh, E, Oh, Ooo(A, E,I, O, U) and Uh(U), cover's most of it with some variation. And, another thing, there's plenty of Kanji out there that is almost exactly just an English Word being pronounced with Japanese Vowel sounds instead of English ones, so it could be plausible to lead someone into English Comprehension by using their Kanji Knowledge(Though Kanji is hard honestly.) as well.
