When I first came across these vids I was a bit arrogant thinking 'i already know how to say this phrase,' but I soon realized how much more in in depth knowledge there was to each. And I always learn something I never learned from any textbook. Moral of the story: no level of knowledge is beneath you. Every new thing learned is a good thing :)

So when I was rewatching the video now, having almost forgotten the details, when I heard about というか, I immediately thought: huh, it's like saying "[Previous sentence]," you can say, or "[Next sentence]"

@@MonyoDS I know that already, I meant かわいい ---> かわいくて, ちいさい ---> ちいさくて, by putting it into a te form, so to speak, in order to chain them together. "It is cute, small, and yellow" かわいくて、小さくて、黄色です. I can do that in the present but there are other rules in order to do it in the past. Thanks for the link though

Hi About the i-adjective chains Change the last adjective for past and present 〜い → 〜かった 〜ない → 〜なかった And change one by one, the negatives 〜くて →〜 なくて 可愛くて、小さくて、黄色い＝Cute, Small and Yellow 可愛くなくて、小さくて、黄色くない＝Not cute but small, and not yellow 可愛くなくて、小さくなくて、黄色くない＝Not cute, not small and not Yellow 可愛くて、小さくて、黄色かった＝Was cute, small and yellow 可愛くなくて、小さくなくて、黄色くなかった＝Was not cute, nor small, nor yellow. Same as with verb chains 取って、壊して、走って行った＝I took, broke, and ran away. I may be wrong that’s what I understood from the article, also the verb て chains work in a similar way. Great video and lessons as always. At 11:40, for the sentence 「そういえば、駅前の駐車場の料金上げるよ」、 I think might be more appropriate to translate 駐車場の料金 as "parking fee" instead of cost of parking lot which may mean the cost of the entire lot (as real estate). Therefore, something like "By the way, it seems that the parking fee of the parking lot in front of the station will go up". This follows the context that the speaker wants to park his car, and not to buy a parking lot.

Actually, "tonikaku" would probably cover it. (It's "anyway", however.") You can also use "Toriaezu", which means "For the time being".

That would be a good video, but in brief: そして(soshite) "...and (then)": often used to start a new sentence, but can be used before the final item in a list of things. それで(sorede) And so/thereupon (also used at a start of a new sentence, the sentence being a consequence of the previous) それに(soreni) And besides: used when adding additional information to the previous sentence. それでも(soredemo): However/But still.../Still and all..., also used at start of sentence.

The two halves would be first half: Normal spoken japanese, no subtitles explanations in japanese and second half slow spoken japanese with explanation in english, just an idea, great video, i like the practicability of giving insight to slang and formal and informal speech, thank you!
