It's actually my dream to open a Yatai in Canada. I have everything planned out and even some funds available, but unfortunately no matter where you look, the restrictions and costs are just outrageous. The big cities make it so unaffordable and limit the time/places you can set up and the small towns are so out of touch that they see street vendors as a "lower class" of work and want nothing to do with them. Really unfortunate situation for us sadly

With such a sophisticated buildings in the background, this humble Yatai (and the other ones too) makes the streets so lively. I am so glad to see that Japan also has the street food and eat out culture, which is a very common phenomenon in India. This Chef makes more friends than customers, he is hard-working and dedicated :) Most importantly the genuine laughs in the background tell a great story. The food he offers is freshly made, hot and yummy. In spite of the lockdown challenges, this man survived and continued to keep up the business. Truly a warrior. He is fatigued everyday with all the hard work, yet I am sure he has a great story to say to his people back there in Japan. And he should lead a happy, fulfilled life by serving people the single most important need, the food. May all your efforts yield the greatest outcomes brother :) Have a wonderful time. The newlywed couple look so cute! Lovely! I wish them a long happy life together. And the restaurant owner is a good hard working man it seems. Takes Pride in his work. Japanese language sounds very pleasant. If God all mighty granted me a second life of this earth I would learn Japanese, travel to Japan, and learn more about these great people.

Such a nice humble restaurant owner. The connection between him and his customers is absolutely genuine. You would never see anything remotely close to this in America. Where the restaurant business is so cutthroat and vicious. I wish this guy continued success.

What I love about all of these type of food outlets is the ingenuity that goes into designing them. No space is left unused, although I fear that Healh & Safety laws here in the UK would mean we'll never get to see such stalls in our towns and cities 😢
