You do have to admit it that we (English or Chinese) all think we pronounced it perfectly it's the other party having hearing problem. LOL
@LilyUnicorn
@LilyUnicorn 2 жыл бұрын
Not really. those are all very different sounds any pitch you want for english. But chinese...those are all same sounds, different relative pitches. So not a hearing problem. More like relative grammar problem. Hearing problem is mine. Tone dead test pretty much said im mostly tone deaf. I will never in a million years be able to hear the difference.

I'm a first year university student studying chinese and I hate so much the names 玛丽 and 麦克 for how much they are used🤣🤣. And yes, at first I also used to move my head while saying the tones, and actually today I kinda yell while saying the 4th tone, so imagine how funny it is when I say 我是意大利人😂😂

Why the head moving? I while speaking english we seem to raise our voice a bit if not more. :)
@saraminella5448

@@lachic9024 because, I can tell for italian, we don't have tones, so when we first study chinese we imagine in our head the tone we want to say, because it's "unnatural" to us. Follow the tones with our head help us to say them🤣

That was my first Chinese lesson in BLCU. When the teacher was reading vocabulary list he said 你早 and I followed him 你肏. That moment I didn’t realise, what’s wrong with my pronunciation, he corrected me many times during the lesson, and I many times replied to him 你肏,你肏,你肏! After the class my bf, who speaks Chinese very fluently came to the teacher and asked him, how is her first chinese lesson, and from that time I got the difference between nǐ zǎo and nǐ cào 😂 That was my own story about Chinese 😂🤣

If English speakers all started learning Chinese at the age of 7 at school and have access to dozens of movies and TV series to watch in Chinese, and aspire to go to China for school or work, their Chinese would be about as good as the Chinese people's English.
