I am so glad, I joined the military pretty much right out of high school. I think, it probably saved me from a lot of troubles. I still remember when my Army Recruiter asked me, "if I have ever done any kind of drugs?" To which I answered, well I have smoked a joint here, and there. That's pretty much it. Then he replied back, "Well today you are quitting! Because, the first thing they are going to give you when you get to MEPS, and Basic Training, is a urinalysis." He was right. So, that was the last time I smoked anything. Believe me, I didn't joined the military, to get kicked out because of drugs. It happens all the time.

Can almost guarantee Maddie had an eating disorder before she started drugs. If true, she will never go to rehab because she knows she will gain weight.
@1w5982 жыл бұрын
She used to be overweight, but why do you assume she had an eating disorder? Weight is the last thing on her mind. She couldn't care less about her appearance right now.
@deezcheney97302 жыл бұрын
@@1w598 Because I had an eating disorder which led to me continuing using things and it is common for women who destroy themselves alike she is to have childhood trauma that leads to eating disorders, anxiety and depression which then leads to alcohol or drugs abuse. Dual diagnosis is almost a guarantee with any addict since they began to get rid of that empty feeling and not to "party" as some put it. You think she doesn't see herself every now and then? Really? Even at my absolute worst I still saw how messed up I was but couldn't stop. Was terrified that I was going to die or worse (since there is worse even if death is the end- a lot of suffering before that will happen and you die anyway) It made me scared to gain weight in rehab as it did for almost every single girl there. It is COMMON and I can see it in someone's eyes after my own experience. Didn't claim it to be 100% since cannot know for sure but pretty positive. Most addicts do have eating disorders believe it or not.

@@deezcheney9730 You're correct and no one believes me when I say women started out feeling fat could never loose weight and along comes vicodin/opiods guaranteed weight loss plus good feelings so why would you want to give that up? You won't.
@deezcheney9730 Жыл бұрын
@@jennysweet5793 Yes, losing the weight was the first thing that caused me to start using any kind of drug. It had a lot to do with trauma from childhood, started drinking at 11yrs old and each time they show addicts on tv back then they were always skinny and I thought people wouldn't be as cruel to me if I was prettier. The anxiety and need to lose so much weight I'd disappear almost was the catalyst to all that I did to myself later. And that began because of abuse. It makes me want to be stable enough to help as many as possible get out of that mindset earlier than I did. Even stopping at a young age, was still disabled from the amount of damage and it's way harder to make a decent life when your youth is wasted that way. Takes years to feel fully in control again, and just comfortable within your own body.

Truth. As an addict you learn what sort of things people want to hear. You tell them "I'm trying to get into treatment" because you know they are tired of you living in the same hell day after day. You say it because you wish it were true. But when you're ready to be done you don't talk about it...you do it. They aren't ready to be done yet. I pray they find the desperation to change before one or both are dead. I am only alive and sober today by the grace of God; and that same grace is available to them as well if they choose it. @@LA-yo9jk now just think. Those of us who live it every day, year after year. Those of us who must walk past this accumulating decadence on our way to school. Those of us who toss and turn in our sleep, anticipating a burning building so close you can smell the tar. Those of us who dread summer when the partially eaten cadavers begin to smell. We have not grown accustomed nor callous. We are simply gripped by the fatalistic thoughts of when, not if, we are next. Of course those in gated communities who ask their sheltered kids what they want to be when they grow up will never comprehend the inner city kid who say he just don't want to get shot. And the parents who can't explain how a city could shut off water for nearly 20, 000 detroiters. Certainly their situation is shocking and deplorable. But so too the elderly lady on a walker and starving because no elevator service for many of the hud senior building. We all know the smell of rot and death. They are quietly carted out of these senior buildings and buried. We are not calloused. But we also understand: Arbeit Macht Frei. We are screaming at the top of our lungs--asking for our fellow americans to put down the phones. And come to the inner cities across the nation and see what is really going on. The hepatitis. The aids. The skyrocketing death rate. The abuse by government officials elected on a promise to protect and serve. But noone is listening. Noone understand the Palantir system that is turning brother against brother. Sister against parent. These are no drive by. These are families falling apart and turning on each other. Of course we see this couple sprawled in debris. But we have been beat down. That's the real reason behind detroiters not voting. We have been beat down. And we are losing hope. Do like tom. Come talk and see. You don't need a camera. Or money. Just genuine concern.

I think the problem with most addicts is they ve forgotten how to deal with stress and emotions and deal with it drugs. Without drugs, they just cannot handle it. It takes tremendous willpower and repeating to oneself not to do drugs anymore. Its best not to push someone to quit and stress them out. No passing judgement, critizing them, making them feel worse, just making conversation and letting them keep trying to quit on their own.

Yeah, this is heartbreaking, but what did people expect? Girls who work the streets, selling their body for $20 (sometimes even for less if they're dope-sick enough!) - if their addiction has gone *that far* they're doing that to get their next hit, then how do you expect them to live?? In some nice apartment somewhere with A/C and Netflix? These are women who've even abandoned their children because of their addiction - yeah they're that far gone, so I don't really understand how people expect them to live. And YES, I have compassion for these people! I know how drugs are and what they can make people do - addiction is a devil that takes over the soul and doesn't let go...

Heroin definitely can cause your teeth to break/ fall out. I was a heroin addict for 5 years and had 1 tooth break and fall out in that time just eating bacon bits in a salad 😳 I've spent so much money since getting sober to repair the damage to my teeth. My heart just breaks for this couple. Getting clean is the easy part, but to stay clean and deal with all the consequences your addiction has had on your physical health, mental health, your finances, your relationships with friends and family... is the hard part. I could never imagine trying to do it in their position. So I want to say a prayer for them, Dear lord I call on you today because I need you to help this couple as you've helped me lord, I pray for strength and healing for this couple, I pray you watch over and protect them as they are trying to fight the demon inside them, I ask you to surround them with your love and allow them to feel that same love for themselves, open their minds and their hearts to you, and help pull them out of this darkness so that they are able to live in the light, oh lord. Amen🙏
