It's possible to get out of that lifestyle, I was a drug addict for more than 8 years. Drugs don't discriminate, I had a great job at a bank, a house, friends etc.. Then the lighting striked, lost my son due to a medical error and 10 months later , was a victim of a home invasion and got raped. Started with pills (oxy, dilaudid, morphine) and switched to heroin in less than a year, lost everything, went to jail, lived on the street. I was lucky to have a childhood friend who Gave me a roof and I found a substitution clinic in Montreal (methadone /suboxone).. Got diagnose with severe ptsd and got the right treatment. I've been clean for a little more than 6 years now, I live in a condo and been approve for a service dog (ptsd, anxiety ). It's possible but it takes a lot of willing and efforts.. I still crave that shit everyday but I chose life.. To all you out there, keep the faith, believe in yourself, you deserves everything good that life have to offer.. God bless ❤️🙏

I am so proud of you! I also have PTSD from long term abuse from the ex-husband. I was so messed-up I did not realize that I was being abused. His treatment of me was the only treatment that I knew. I know this sounds crazy, but I became "conditioned" by him. I started to realize that something was terribly wrong once his treatment of me became blatant and 7-years ago I immediately left with little money or belongings. At about 19 years of age, I began to have this severe pelvic pain. I went to the doctor once at about 22 years of age for this but he just talked to me and gave me a prescription Advil and sent me on my way. I went again when I was 35, this doctor examined me and investigated. This led to more investigating, tests, specialists, surgeries, and I was diagnosed with a painful condition with no cure. The only treatments gave me migraines and I was placed on prescriptions like Fentanyl and Morphine. At first, I took them as prescribed. Later, although I didn't realize it at the time, I began to abuse my meds due to the abuse that I was suffering from my ex-husband. There is no excuse for that, but it's what I did. This led to a 20-year addiction. After a rollercoaster of many years of using and stopping, times of homelessness, despair, and financial abuse by my ex. I was invited to move in with my mom. (I was still using at the time). I had just been laid-off from a job and found that I could go to college through a grant. I was in the process of enrolling in school. I was so tired and done. I always wanted to try drug treatment, but never had any money or felt that I had no support. I secretly began calling treatment centers. I found a drug treatment center that stated they would take me for FREE. I then had to admit to my mom that I had relapsed, (years prior) because she thought I quit pills a long time ago. Instead of being upset with me, my mom was proud of me. I have been sober for 1 year and 10 months. I speak to a counselor every 2 weeks that assists with the PTSD. I have only a couple of quarters left in school, then I will go out to "extern" in the healthcare field. I will graduate from college with an AA. I will take my test for the state boards and become a licensed healthcare worker.

The denial is deep for this woman. Trust me, being on heroin is NOT fun and having 5 children with 5 different men and having custody of NONE of them isn't a walk in the park. Some people really just don't care if their kids grow up without their mother. I wouldn't rule out the possibility that she really does prefer being a homeless junkie smoking crack on the street at 4am and getting picked up by johns. Sounds like hell to almost everyone, but some people live for pleasure and want nothing more than to get high and have sex all day every day. Lacie's life is horrible and she probably wishes she wasn't hooked on drugs and had a better future to look forward to. Who wants to be homeless and avoiding creeps and performing sexual acts on dirty johns? I wish the interviewer asked about her ambitions. But I'm sure there really are crazy women out there working the streets thinking "I'm just going to get high and fuck as far as this body will take me and then kill myself."

She is just not in a place where she can think about a future right now. She perceives that doing what she does is better for her than living as the majority of people live. It’s wrong for me and might be wrong for you and it may even be clear to us it is wrong for Lacie - but she doesn’t see it that way. She will have to discover that on her own, when she’s ready. Much more complexed than that tho. I don't know how you do it I'm not American, but the system has obviously failed her. Getting pregnant when you can't care for your children is for me a let down from society. Better the education of birth control and make them free of charge and she perhaps wouldn't have children she can't care fore. Definitely no one wants to put children in to this world that they can't care for.
@nicolaparkes34314 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter where you are from . She got pregnant five times, society didn't have a hand in it. She makes enough money for drugs so why shouldn't she pay for contraception??? She chose to stick a needle in her arm. She opted out of being a mother. You are excusing the shit and detrimental choices she made which have probably destroyed five innocent children's lives. What country do you come from, La la land???
@moahanold55394 жыл бұрын
nicola parkes not in any way defending her actions. She has made very bad choices but neither you or I know about her past that most likely has led her to this path. I’m not an addict and from the sound of it I’m guessing that you aren’t either so we can’t really understand how that addiction effects her. I understand that you feel that using drugs it’s an active choice she makes and once it may were but now she can’t live without them that’s how drugs work. And that’s were society should help her. I hope that her children is getting a safe and stable upbringing which she definitely cant provide for them. Having a absent mother doesn’t ruin your life but growing up in an unsafe environment may. And no its not la la land, it’s Sweden.

She seems to handle the whole situation quite easily . I think that she must have a huge mental strength and very disciplined : she looks healthy so she eats . Pretty , yes . So far the compliments . She is also a big egoist who prefers her kicks rather than watch her 5 children who will wander one day why their mother didn't want to raise them . But the same for the men who made her pregnant . Poor children . I am so happy that I had loving parents .
