Audio!!!! EMC guys. Get some ferrite beads (aka Clip-on Noise Filter) and clamp them around the wires (USB, microphone, and HDMI (very noisy!))this will cancel / attenuate the common mode currents coupled from the nearby wires and/or other radiators like cell phones. Also keep in mind cable bundling might also cause issues. Hope this helps(:

Favourite E30 has to be the ALPINA B6 3.5s. E30 M3 body shell but with a tuned M30 3.5 I6 from the e34 535i. Also one of the only times ALPINA touched an M car rather than starting with the series car like they usually do.

I did a track day at Palmer once in a stripped out Miata, absolute blast. The huge elevation change and tight turns, coupled with a relatively short distance and beautiful scenery, make it a blast. Can't recommend to anyone enough within a few hours drive.

the v10 manual is actually exactly the same as the e90 v8 m3 transmission. You can change final drive if you want shorter gearing.

39:10 I wonder if the complaints about the manual have something to do with electronic throttle bodies. I remember savagegeese complaining about the current WRX having a ton of rev hang resulting in the need to shift it rather lazily.

Your recapping of the Land Cruiser experience reminds me of some of the things you said about the new Defender. You can spend very little (relatively) on a Wrangler Rubicon and it will be amazing off road. But on road it's pretty poor. The Defender was perfect everywhere it went. Though great, it sounds like the LC left you wanting more both on and off road (though the LC is just as expensive as the Defender). To go from a wrangler to a defender, the trade-off is money. To get LC longevity and reliability, maybe the tradeoff is all the brand new toys and engineering that made the Defender so good?

Thank you for saying what everyone secretly thinks, but doesn't say. E30 M3 fans love the 4cyl, but if an I-6 was an option for it back then, there would be no question. Isn't this why it didn't sell that well in the US when released?

Matt, you’re saying no 2 door the size of the M4 (188” x 73”) makes sense, but the LC500, that you have had nothing but praise for, is 187” x 76”. What’s up with that?
@mcspikesky3 жыл бұрын
Different class of car?
@joeracer3023 жыл бұрын
@@mcspikesky the LC is a more upscale car than the M3, but they are both sport coupes. Matt was talking about 2 door in general and said no 2 door ever makes sense at that size, but every time the LC comes up Matt has nothing but positive things to say and encourages people to buy that car. The LC and M4 are essentially the same size, so obviously there is more than just the size that makes the M4 undesirable.
@deathcab4booty3 жыл бұрын
the LC is a GT car, not a sports coupe. a car that wants to be a sports coupe shouldn't be within spitting distance of an M8.
@PigglyWigglyDeluxe3 жыл бұрын
M4, a big coupe, might do well on a track but not so well on the streets. LC500, a big coupe, might do well on the street but not so well on the track. Size and amount of doors alone are not the only factors at play here

Read any UK, European, Australian or Japanese car magazine in the 80's and guess which car they would do a comparison test of the M3 that was also from Germany, had a 2.3l 4 cylinder, it had the same gearbox, rwd, was that companies small entry level sedan aimed at DTM which the and was used in subsequent reviews over 35 years as the Non US spec version was what they got.

Just to give context to this discussion. This was my local race series in New Zealand in the mid 80s. A broad variety of cars and each year a change. We raced a 930 and a 944T in the Porsche support race. The Schnitzer BMW was being run before the factory M3 ever came on the scene. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHKZh6R_ZpKAjMk
