Man United had just taken 10,000 to Portsmouth, and regularly took that number away when playing in the second tier, but the next game at THe Old Den their trains mysteriously and miraculously had to terminate at Stockport, as I recall. Around 47 years later there is still no sign of them and I am beginning to think they are not going to show...:)

Good Heavens No ! Old Chap. My only encounter with The "Red Army" was at Oldham when they turned up in 1976ish and I ended up in the middle of them chanting United and they were too stupid to realize that the reason I had my Millwall Scarf in the middle of them, clearly visible, was that they must have thought I was the "Man" not realizing my audacity. To add to the fun after the game I knew there would be a 3-way tussle in an alley back to the station so I left my mates and went on my own round the scenic route only to run into 15 United Lads....lol I had to think quickly (no scarf being displayed this time) and saw a local Man about to go into his house with no one else around at all. I explained my problem and asked him to shout out "See you tonight lad" when The United fans got very near me and I smiled and waved as if I was a local so I survived again and visited 84 different grounds and watched 1,800 live games and am still here without so much as a cut finger to tell the tale(s). I enjoyed that. Jason would only have been 7 or 8 and, presumably, not there when Chelsea experienced a fateful day both on and off the pitch at The OLD DEN, Millwall in 1975. I never got involved though I went to that 3/0 Millwall win and I understand Chelsea got a right hammering that day...
