I lived nearby a busy railway yard for quite some time. Hearing all the rumble is definetly comforting. You somehow feel the world didnt stop around and everything is ok. Idk how to explain it really

I agree. I live about a mile from a mainline that runs through my city, and late at night when I'm awake, whether it be homework, personal studying, or drawing, and I hear a diesel horn blast, it somehow makes the night more peaceful. Remember the opening to the Outsiders? When Ponyboy is thinking how to begin his story and you hear the train horn in the distance from his room? The ambience is just so amazing.

Coming from someone who works on the railroad, that crew rounds the corner and sees you standing in the gauge of the tracks it puts them in a small panic. Please be safe if you’re going to watch trains next to the tracks.
