@gkirozal4846 Жыл бұрын
This is one of the most tragically powerful songs I have ever heard. Jason's passion and writing really hit home. I had a friend who couldn't get enough "medicine" or liquor to kill her pain. We talked endlessly, but...."there was nothin' I could say to her that I ain't already said...." I tried, we all did. I felt so helpless watching a beautiful, funny, intelligent, kindhearted woman slowly disappear into her powders, pills and alcohol. And then I moved away and found out a couple of years ago that she finally got her wish. Her Dad found her dead in her kitchen. I miss her. She was my partner in crime......my sister from another mother. I miss you Valerie.

I would run into Jason in Sheffield at jimmy Nutts Nutt house, when I was with Gary Nichols. The guy (Jason) had that captivating effect on me and so many since the DRIVE BY TRUCKERS. Had I not known he was such a good man with a sense of humor i would think he wasn’t very happy, but he’s just the best story teller of our time, since Dylan in my opinion.
