I am astounded by the simplicity of the effects, on all of the behind the scenes you've done. I knew VFXs have to spare where they can, but the extend of this still caught me off guard. Simply: It's amazing and gives me a very warm feeling in my tummy! :D

I'm an indie programmer, and have absolutely no artistic skill whatsoever, but I'm interested in VFX. You broke this down so amazingly that even I could understand this. I'm stunned.

Hi Jason! I'm a character modeler, but since ZBrush Summit 2015 and presentation of Your coworkers I started learning 2D animation and game VFX. I couldn't attend to Your lecture in Gnomon, because I live in Poland, but I learn myself and Your tutorials and these breakdowns are the best learning material for me, so thank You so much! I hope in some time You'll see my application in Riot, because I'm getting those skills and building my portfolio specifically for League of Legends Team :)

wonderful insight on what goes one behind the scenes of league development, i'd love to see more of these videos about skins and every other ingenious aspect of the game i would just recomend keeping it under the 10 minutes mark when showcasing a single skin. that may vary a bit though hoping for more

Please do more of these! These are REALLY awesome for aspiring 3D VFX artists :) It would be sweet if you could show us how Lux's effects are done.

great idea to show the used textures for the fx as well! :) Is there a chance for you to share the logic behind the kalista bounding ? ( talking about her passive, the connection between her and her support) Keep it going jason! :>
these paintings on brand body could be added more meshes to make him look like it is animated those light blue parts on his body similar to his head

Thanks so much for posting these, Jason! It's fascinating to see how you do it, and your breakdowns are so clear. You seem to use this thing quite often where there's a darker, alpha-blended texture as a background, and over that is another texture that's additive, and that works really well for creating contrast for the brighter bits to stand out. I've done something similar, using premultiplied blending, so that it's all done just on one layer. Is is a conscious decision to treat them separately? Is it because you want them to animate independently?

This is off topic, and i'm uncertain if you would have information on this or not, but do you know if there are any plans for Kennen and his VFX?

+Jason Keyser (sry for autocorrect in the last comment) Eish! Seven hours? I actually thought that what we were seeing were just automated renders (by what I imagined to be a software from Riot to preview the 3D models and particles) and it was as easy as "turn on just one layer" or "view outline of layer [X]"... I could imagine that if Riot decided to provide help for artists to put out behind the scenes videos such as these it would be easier but with all the creative content coming every single PBE patch (plus pvp.net artwork and web design) it would be impossible. I can now see that you put out a lot of work in to these and we really appreciate it
