Jason, what an awesome tutorial on the a minor! However, I had a little bit of a problem following the lesson because I couldn’t stop staring at that beautiful: Ibanez Prestige RG1570, what a beauty!

Powerful and effective Am workshop for more than one reason: it's riff based and therefore immediately applicable as opposed to just shredding scales in three octaves. Another milestone is that I am mixing up rhythms within the same riff!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you for pointing that out, Dana, and that’s exactly what I was hoping folks would get out of this lesson…something that’s practical and can actually be used rather than just playing scales

This opened so much up to me. Been stuck in a blues/dad rock rut for a while. Watching this just made me grab the SG and get straight into a more metal vibe. New subscriber right here.

Hey Jason! Do you do one on one metal lessons? You really resonate w me.

My schedule is all over the place so I can’t really do one on one but I do have a platform with courses and monthly lessons: www.jasonstallworthguitaracademy.com/

Comment 2: rather than changing the f sharp to g to accommodate theory you could argue that this change is more to spite theory! Lol!🎉😂! That’s so METAL! Hell yeah!
@jasonstallworth22 сағат бұрын
@@robbiegarnz7732 Good point! I honestly don’t think about theory or scales or any of that. To me it’s all about translating what I hear in my head to the fretboard

The reason that the B chord doesn’t “work” is because according to theory it has to be diminished (with a lowered 5th). But that’s the beauty of five (power) chords…you can pretty much toss the “rules” into the trash can and just play something that sounds kick ass!

so is a minor and a minor pentatonic 2 different scales??
@jasonstallworthКүн бұрын
Subtle differences. I don’t focus too much on the actual scale though. It’s about venturing out and exploring different notes that sound good to you. In other words, I don’t want to play a guitar solo that sounds like I’m practicing scales

great lesson, i sub the course, but do wonder whats up with some folks if he needs to keep adding trigger warnings pointing out that its a tutorial, not a guitar law court whose rules are set in stone. Those folks are too sensitive if creators need to do that; if u dont wanna learn a little theory, nobody's gonna force u to.
