JATAZA WIRELESS Android auto Apple car play, with reverse camera

Does this work for older cars? I tried to plug it in and we popped a relay on the convertible top. Is this an issue with 7-12 volt cig lighter? I read it needs up to 24 volts. Has anyone else experienced this?
