As a bedrock player, id honestly prefer Java, but only because of its modding capabilities, bedrock can only do so much, but with Java you’re able to run so many different mods and texture packs and not have to worry about your game crashing (to a certain extent) plus they have shaders too.

Villagers are a mess in bedrock. They will claim workstations and beds even if pathfinding does not allow it while Java villagers do not. It's especially annoying when making a free-range village, and you keep seeing green sparkles and thunder cloud icons on your beds and barrels

Both versions have aspects that are better on one than on the other (I personaly prefer bedrock) If they mixer both versions with the aspects from bedrock that are better than java and the aspects from java that are better than bedrock it would make Minecraft even better

Yeah But some of them cant get good to not anger a part of comunity Lets say redstone Bedrock redstone is much different than java one and if java redstone was coded to bedrock those bedrock redstoners would get angry so they need to keep both redstones separated to not anger comunity But i still dont see why there are no shield banners or scpectar arrows or better maps They dont exsist on bedrock so could be implemented without problem

I switched to Java after playing Bedrock for about a year. Never want to go back. I like how smooth Bedrock runs compared to Java and it has some other nice features. But overall, as someone who is more into the technical, redstony side of minecraft, and also like mods, Java just wins for me.

I'm really confused with those two versions, how do you get Bedrock on its own ? I already have Java that I bought years ago when Bedrock wasn't a thing, but when I try to look up Bedrock only, all I can see is a bundle of both versions.

because bedrock on pc used to be only Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. Later they decided to make it so that android, iOS, playstation, Xbox, Nintendo and windows 10 would all have the EXACT SAME GAME with not a single difference. That version is Minecraft bedrock which is mostly based on the android version of Minecraft. On PC, it was still windows 10 and java for a bit but now it's just bedrock and java together and they even gave copies of the game to people who had java only or bedrock only since the only real reason Mojang still supports java is it's popularity and its mods shaders and servers.
