All the men in Sifa’s family went missing in the Srebenica massacre and were later identified in the mass graves, with the exception of her elder brother. Now, Sifa has to return to her native Bosnia for one more funeral.
The agreement that ended the Bosnian War was signed in November 1995. But is this agreement imposed by the international community strong enough to guarantee future peace? This is the question posed by Sifa Suljic, a Bosnian from Srebrenica who ended up rebuilding her life in Catalonia. She is now returning to her country to bury the remains of her last family member to disappear in the massacre.
In this journey for answers, she tries to find out what happened to her brother and how neighbours who had grown up together ended up despising and killing each other. And there is one question always on her mind: could it happen again?

To start from scratch in another country and learn another language is a heavy burden in itself. Especially for those coming from war zones.

Sifa is a true warrior. She carries the archtype of the true female warrior spirit. For her adversity is something she takes in her stride. Not many women make it this far and keep their sanity. I just hope she finds some inner peace. Sadly what has been done can not be undone. God willing her grief doesn't get the better of her.

In 1995 the Bosnian construct was born! A construct or State or people that will outlive it's neighbouring States.

As uncomfortable as it may sound I commend the major for his stance however it is that others perceive it. Everyone suffered. Some more than others but to proclaim Ratko Mladic never killed anyone as if to absolve him of his responsibilities is where I draw the line. Mladic would have ordered those massacres no doubt and sadly his daughter paid with it her life.

I love the mayor, war has consequences, and playing victim will lead you no where. That lady needs help, the son noticed she's obsessed and too bitter. Hopefully it doesn't go to the kids and ends with her generation.

Perhaps a short trip in her shoes might help you recognise what her feelings consist of. You can't blame people for their obsessive behaviours. Their behaviours and complexes belong to them. What belongs to you is yours.

I can understand her children who grew up in normal society like Spain. They wish for internal harmony and peace. But in the land of genocide deniers you can not make peace or compromise with those who are denying the genocide against your loved ones. Still to this day they are defending war criminals and are proud of them. How for the love of God can you reconcile or logic with that type of mentality. When a mayor of a city has that kind of mentality what can you expect from common individuals. We did once lived in peace with them for 40years. And for those 40 years we did not fake our friendship with them. We truly believed that they were our friends and good neighbors. Our naive blindness and good heart failed our judgment miserably. Because of that we paid heavy price. While we were building our houses and dreaming about the future our neighbors were preparing for the War. And please for the love of God stop calling war in Bosnia a civil war ?!!. War in Bosnia was pure aggression from Serbia and Montenegro against sovereign independent Bosnian state. Serbs in Bosnia were separatists who wanted to destroy their own country of birth from inside out and create great Serbia from the ashes of Bosnia. it was done Under false pretense how they only wanted to preserve Jugoslavia which is complete fabrication of actual facts on the ground. Read about plan RAM. You even have on you tube audio recording between Slobodan Milosevic and Radovan Karadzic in which they are talking about how everything needs to be done according to plan RAM. That Talk between them took place in the year of 1991 whey before the start of war in Bosnia. It was well planned and executed aggression. The only thing that I respect when it comes to nationalist and shovinist serb Vojislav Šešelj is that he doesn’t care about any repercussions for speaking his mind out loud. He openly admits that the plan RAM from very beginning was to create great Serbia with new border lines stretching from Virovitica-Karlovac-Karlobag. Which in translation means entire state of Bosnia and majority of Croatia will now be destroyed and new great Serbian state will emerge from the ashes of those two countries.
