Ranking Characters as Café Employees - Genshin Impact 3.0 Tier List

I'd like to make some post-upload alterations to the list... Yelan could easily be another one of the "strict managers" Raiden could MAYBE be a manager as well, but as we know from how she ruled over Inazuma until we came along, it probably wouldn't go over well. Zhongli probably does know a thing or two about making herbal teas since he seems to have bountiful knowledge of many specific things (as we learned in his archon quest). But I'd only move him up one tier at most because I still don't think he'd care about making any mora, and thus wouldn't see the benefit of spending so much time working. Again, he COULD be a manager, but with his lack of regard for mora, he'd probably order every ingredient we'd need for the next 10 years in one day. We'd immediately go bankrupt. There are some more characters who also could have been brought into the Manager Tier, but I didn't want 1/2 the tier list up there. So yeah. Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk

I think Tighnari would be great for checking the supplies. He would make sure all materials for coffee are safe to drink. If a customer drank coffee with milk but forgot to mention they're lactose intolerant or a customer got food poisoning for any other reason he would always be there for the rescue.

Just saying though, Dori could be a potential B, A, maybe even S tier. She LOVES mora, and even though her current methods don't apply in a coffee shop (unless she's mixing elicit goods in those drinks.. but let's pretend she won't do that for now), she can adapt and rake in a LOT of mora via marketing strategies. I don't think she would necessarily be an "employee" though.. more like a buisness partnership. She keeps the Mora she makes (whilst being promoted by the Java cafe) and you (or others) can learn from her and use her marketing tactics to improve the buisness drastically.

Only ones I disagree with: Childe: Childe wouldn't fight people just because they tell him no. He works hard and he can quickly turn a situation around. Plus he has the money. Yelan: She would not leave the store just because someone was walking. Even if she saw suspicious activity, she would tell someone before leaving. She works very hard at her job and she's extremely smart. Plus, she would attract a lot of simps- uh I mean costumers...yeah...

I feel like the travelers should be a tier because they have experience due to the ‘of a drink dreaming’ event, which was serving non alcoholic beverages like coffee and juices. during the event diluc even commented that the traveler got business up. also they were able to be semi-employed there just fine, and in all of the dialogue did seem to be comfortable as an employee.

I feel like local himbo Itto could have ranked higher, B or C. He wouldn't have worked there long, probably a week at most before getting bored with it and dipping. But for his duration, everybody loved him. Like, you know he would try his hardest at that, its one of his character traits. Put 110% into everything he does, even if hes bad at it. He'd probably be left to call out finished orders, hes loud and he would 100% remix peoples names into something fun and silly while doing it. Though as someone who used to be responsible for training new employees, I dont know if I would fully trust him on a register. He'd probably be okay if theres another person up there with him, but certainly not on his own. I had to train some mad stupid people, and I feel like a register is just complicated enough for him to never fully grasp all of the things it does. I've had a share of people who were legitimately too stupid to be running a register, even with help. I would rank him above that, solely on the fact that he will ask for help. Story quest wise, he got onto Tatsuya for not asking for help, so he has that going for him. Oh no.... Itto and Tortudoodles would be absolute nightmares to handle if they were both there at the same time. They would get into so many fights. Tortellini would always be starting them, and Itto is too competitive and stupid to back down.

I would honestly swap Heizou and Venti. If Xinyan and Yun Jin are in A because of music, Venti has no business being in D. He's literally the god of song. Heizou on the other hand has terrible work ethics. He barely ever shows up at the police station and basically just does what he wants.

I’m going to evaluate the E tier/non-playable (for now) characters. Signora : I don’t think she’d make for a stable work environment. I feel like with her and Venti’s history it wouldn’t pan well, Sara and Ei would have issues with her, Childe’s unstable relationship with her wouldn’t work well, it just wouldn’t be a good match. Plus, like Java said, criminal. I’d honestly keep her in E tier. I can’t find any pros for her. Scaramouche : I love him, more than his theoretical mother ever cared to, but in his current state there isn’t anything good about him being in a coffee shop. Currently, I’d keep him in E tier. He’s essentially nothing more than a mixture of trauma and neglect built up into a façade he chooses to wear. That being said, since he was created by Ei obviously she knows how to reprogram him into what he needs to be. So, take him to her or vice versa and we should be good. I’d honestly put him in B after that. I think he’d perform well after reprogramming. Dori : She’s shady but knows how to bargain. She’d make good money for the cafe, assuming she showed up. She’d also be the type to personally evaluate the customer, which may be unfortunate, if she didn’t like the result. She may end up not serving them. Though, she runs her own business - I feel like she’d be perfect as a manager. Therefore - Manager tier. 100%… ish. Of course she still isn’t out yet, but from what we see of her, I feel like this is a fair evaluation.

Shenhe has anger issues. Somehow, I don't think customer service is the best job for her. It'd be a race to see who would beat up a customer first, between her, Rosaria, and Tartaglia. Definite D tier. Bennett... E tier. Boy is so unlucky that the best way he could help your cafe would be to get a job at your competition. Qiqi would be a good employee. She is meticulous about writing important things down, and what she writes down, she does, so she'd never get an order wrong. Also, she'd show up even when not scheduled to, as many a 50/50 loser can attest to. The one downside, though, is that if you ask her to do something and she doesn't write it down, she might just forget to do it. As far as Yelan goes, she is definitely D tier. Gambler, and when she feels lucky, well, she puts off her work. Even has an idle line about that. Yun Jin... it would depend on where your cafe is. If it isn't in China, well, Chinese opera might be a bit too niche for a cafe. One big missing perk with Raiden: she's got her robot. Once the programming is adjusted, it'll be a great employee. And, also, you know what is better than Raiden working in your cafe? Two Raidens working in your cafe. Although, if you try to change up the menu on the robot, you might be in for a few century-long fight. As for who would manage, my pick would be Ningguang. She'd bring in more money than anyone else, and probably turn the cafe into a world-wide franchise the moment you turn your back. Second best choice would be Diluc, as he also runs a successful business. Best non-manager employee would be Diona. She's the best barista, because she literally cannot make a bad tasting drink. It's canon that her drinks bring in business. Second to her, Xiangling. Yes, she uses strange ingredients, but that's okay. When Ning turns the business into a franchise, Xiangling's monthly concoction will be what you advertise, so people will come in to check it out... and then order what they normally order instead.

Poor Zhongli. While I don't think he'd be a particularly fast worker, he'd make very good drinks, he has experience and clearly good taste. Between Osmanthus wine and the fact he often talks about making tea, he also knows how. He's extremely knowledgeable in all things, and great at conversation, making him good for customers. He always adheres to a contract, so as soon as you hire him he'll follow directions to the letter. Also, I mean who wouldn't want to talk to Zhongli for their morning coffee?

As we evaluate more characters to the tier list, we lose grip on what the tier list is about. It's about "being a cafe employee" so the cafe itself won't expect Ningguang's business mindset or Ayato's resources. That would be the tier list about being a cafe owner/tycoon/investor. Diluc and Diona have the experience of handling customers, so no complain about them.
