It's back to Blyton for our third sprint of the JTSS Championship season!
It was a scorcher in the Lincolnshire countryside as temperatures reached 30°C in the bright midday sun.
Unusually for us, prep for this event consisted of cosmetic repairs to car (and driver!) following unplanned contact with the tyre barrier at Croft Circuit and asphalt in Northampton!
Our first run was a 1:14.42 which put us into P2, 0.72s behind class leader Tom Barnes! However, a mistake in Turn 1 and a minor off-track excursion meant we knew there was more speed to be found!
And on our second run we found that speed, breaking into the 1:13s and never looking back. We continued to improve throughout the day, with our best time of 1:12.84 coming on our fifth run. Despite a mega final lap from Tom keeping us on our toes, this was just enough to hang onto 1st place!
This launches us back into the lead of the Class Championship, closely followed by Tom Barnes and then Josh Greaves in 3rd.
We can't wait to revisit the site of our first (and second!) ever class wins back at Three Sisters Circuit in August!
