Dear You and 24 Hour Revenge Therapy are absolute must haves. These guys were a huge inspiration for Green Day, and even Kurt had their sticker on his guitar on Nirvana’s final tour. Basically like if Green Day was more into drive like jehu and fugazi than pop punk.

@@ang3lstardust dag nasty sounded like a different band on all the stuff i got into...still like smalley over sean on Can I Say...maybe his best stuff, i dont care about his moderate but uncool politics...or Bakers which arent much different. Wig Out was pretty great, too...but Jawbreaker fans turned on them when this came out---now its arguably tied with 24 hour revenge as their best. it makes unfun sound juvenille and Bivuoac was lacking in consistency. but they were getting better. Dear You stood the test of time for all the shit they got...a well deserved check for years of entertaining rich kids who denied their bands any reward for the sacrifices it takes to be a real band. How many times does the guy gotta say "i need new sweaters, people!" this pollup in my throat could kill me! the label doesnt even supply health insurance. pricks killed a growing band. at least they went out strong and sneer when Chemistry saved some dorks life! Dreamed I was a fireman I just smoked and watched you burn Dreamed I was an astronaut I shot you down like a juggernaut Dreamed we were still going out Had that one a few times now Woke up to find we were not It's good to be awake Dreamed I was a tidal wave I ravaged your coast, there were no survivors Dreamed I was your landlord I showed your place when you had lovers If I was a vampire I wouldn't suck your blood Then I dreamed I was you Sweetest dream I have had If you could hear the dreams I've had, my dear They would give you nightmares for a week But you're not here and I can never sleep Come home so I can be a creep Dreamed I was a dream I stole you away, away in your sleep Saved you from a fire, a gun for hire Introduced you to a vampire A wave crashed on the beach We rolled around in its foamy grasp Kissing in the chaos of a kelpy sea Seems I couldn't save you from me If you could hear the dreams I've had, my dear They would give you nightmares for a week But you're not here and I can never sleep Come home so I can be a creep Maybe I'm obsessive to think like this Probably not impressing you with my cheap tricks Honey, it's depressing what depression does to some I'll play the part for hours but I know you'll never come If you could hear the dreams I've had, my dear They would give you nightmares for a week But you're not here and I can never sleep Come home so I can be a creep

@Smaldera

@@englisheducativeProbably, but I believe their 'magic' resided in their unique identity. They emerged from a DIY context and, according to Ozzi, their sin was being outspoken about not being 'sellouts' before they finally signed with a major label. In my humble opinion, they didn't need major labels nor commercial guidelines, which, at the time, were obsessively searching for a new Green Day. That video, for example, doesn't even fit the original style of the song. I don't know, it seems like they were under too much pressure to become something else.

Please don't forget to add that they were sell outs because they opened for that one band? Guns N Roses I think that's who it was? Or was it Nine Inch Nails maybe? I forgot but after that Gilman St. changed their locks.

@@soulfireclash2882 I always check with Gilman St. before liking a band to make sure they could still play there. That way I never lose my DIY, punk, hardcore or crossover credentials.

I'm not sure what people are arguing about, this is an alternative band.

Aaaaah the future! I am HERE! I am 32! And this is what it is: Finding nostalgic Jawbreaker on KZbin and getting a Mcdonalds commercial, from which I KNOW Jawbreaker is getting zero $dolla bills. I thought the future would have smelavision, not this mild travesty. Anyway, Jawbreaker was/is really really fantastic. Good work boys!

I don't care what kind of band they are, all I know is that two boys named Ed and one boy named Eddy would love them.

nobody turned against them. they were still playing with local punk bands in 95. they just stopped touring. hell, between the last time they played here and the 2nd to last time they played was about 5 years i remember. too bad you had to hear it on the radio. shitty deal for you.
