'Jaws' VCD Ending (1975)

This original ending the way it is here in a packed theater in 1975 was unbelievably exciting. People were cheering with each shot he took.

Oh that's it!!! The ricochet bullet sound effect with explosion and everyone in the theater standing up and cheering when the shark was destroyed. Movie magic, and why it won the Oscar.

I love the fact you can hear the "BITCH" in this version as opposed to the remastered where they moved it.

It wasn’t moved. The remix uses a loud gun effect that more or less drowns the line out almost completely. If you listen closely you can barely make out the “ch”.

So a week ago, Jaws was re-released for the 40th anniversary. It was only open on Father's Day Sunday, and the next Wednesday, 3 days later at the same 2 times each day. For father's day I got me and my dad 2 tickets to see it. You have no idea how awesome watching the movie was. I got super excited when the music started near the end during the last 20 seconds of the sharks life. They also combined this ending sound, specifically the ricochet when the tank blows up, as well as the DVD version from 2000, which is the Blu-Ray version of the movie.

I bought the VHS version of Jaws, and this is the ending in the movie, with the original sounds and its awesome. I'm starting to not like the DVD version of Jaws

I agree. And its so loud you cant even hear Brody say 'bit**'. Maybe thats by design but just the same it screws up something that was perfect the first time. Thats why i always switch to the mono track when I watch my Jaws DVD :)

When I saw this on AMC last summer when the blu-ray came out, they combined the original and the remastered sounds, and it made me HAAPPPPPYYY!!!!!!!

Yes but sadly the BluRay is still based off of the 5.1 remix version with all the rerecorded sound effects that was done for the first Jaws DVD. As a result I still revert to the mono track when watching Jaws.

The original track is included on the 2005 DVD and the recently released Blu-Ray as an alternative to the remix. :) I agree with everyone that the original destroys the new version!!!!!!!!
