Train Goes Right Down The Middle Of The City, Almost Street Running Train, With Special CSX Seaboard Coastline Locomotive. Over Powered Train With 5 Locomotives Passes Through Railroad Crossing That Is Unique & Has Baltimore And Ohio Railroad Color Position Lights. These Historic Line Side Signals Are Still In Use! Fast Train Passes Abandoned Train Station That Is Coming Back To Life. These Trains Are In Troy & Sidney, Ohio On CSX Tracks.
The first train is a CSX train with a new heritage unit. This is the Seaboard Coast Line unit and I got lucky that it is leading the train. The train is going down Clay Street in downtown Troy, Ohio. This is one of my favourite places to film.
We also take a close look at historic Baltimore And Ohio Railroad color position lights that are still in use! These are becoming rare. I also show an old train station next to the signals. Then we see a train with 5 locomotives passing the signals and going across an interesting railroad crossing. Look how long the crossing is and all the lights and gates. I really like this crossing a lot.
Next we see a train that I filmed earlier in the day on the ex Big Four Line. I heard the train approaching on 160.800 and we hurried to the old abandoned train station. We got there just as the train came with 2 Union Pacific Railroad locomotives leading. I didn't even have time to get out of the car, thats how close it was. The train station here is in the process of being restored and saved.
The first two trains are on the Toledo Sub and use 160.230 as their road channel but I also recommend using the EOT frequency.
Don't miss the Live Action Pets and the slide show that comes from the video.
Filmed July, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!
Please thumbs up and watch another JawTooth video to help my channel.

I believe this train had 167 cars. I love trains. My mom, sister and I lived across the street from the rails in West Chicago when I was 4 years old. We moved from there when I was 5 to the town of Burlingame, CA and we lived one block from the train and not far at all from the train station. That was in 1959. Once trains with their rumbling hearts full of diesel “make it into your blood” they never leave. I love your videos. It still is fun to count the engines and cars and I am still a kid at 70 !

The Seaboard System Heritage unit leads the parade today. Steel coils Every Which where you look whether in gondolas. Inside coil cars or the newer open cars. The first train also had the 4 empty JRSX potato cars trudging back to Idaho for another load. Knowing those signals will not be there forever enjoy them now and I do believe every home should have a dwarf signal in their backyard as opposed to a yard gnome. Plus thanks for showing that elongated grade Crossing from the other side which shows how much area it really covers. A fun way to start the day but will take a nap first

The first train on this video with the CSX Seaboard System Heritage unit on the lead was a lucky catch, Jaw Tooth! Did you know that the CSX Seaboard Systems Heritage unit was in the lead on this train? I like those old Baltimore & Ohio Railroad signals that you showed us and talk about at 9:23. I hope that when CSX removes those signals that they donate them to a railroad museum for preservation. I presume that the dwarf signal controls access to the main track from the siding. Those five engines on the train that appeared at 10:36 provided enough power for the train that passed that unusual road crossing. Thank you for capturing the two trains in Troy, Ohio and the Union Pacific powered CSX train in Sidney, Ohio, Jaw Tooth! (Posted on 3 August 2024 at 1640 CDT.)

I have noticed this myself. I live near the CSX Henderson Sub, so I see their trains on a daily basis. Some days, it seems like they’ve shortened the length and run more trains. Or maybe overall traffic is down, idk. I don’t know anybody who works for CSX anymore.
@JayYoung-ro3vu
@JayYoung-ro3vu Ай бұрын
@bluegrassman3040 Shorter trains may run faster, theoretically? With working a third shift job, I dont get to watch the trains passing through town regularly. I was sitting there one night a couple of months ago, trying to reconstruct how the line went through our downtown before the hotel project was constructed. My feeling is that the line was street running for a couple blocks before peeling off? The streets were removed as part of an upgrading by the train company. They also requested closure of several minor street connections. Most requested were granted.
@bluegrassman3040
@bluegrassman3040 Ай бұрын
@@JayYoung-ro3vu depending on the power used to pull, yes. You can take off faster and reach whatever speed quicker. But the bigger railroads operate by PSR(lean manufacturing), so they like to pull longer trains with less people. I’m thinking traffic may be down, overall. Who knows.
@JayYoung-ro3vu

Seaboard System brought back memories of the Seaboard Coast Line radio commercial for overnight passenger service from New York (actually Newark, NJ I think) to Florida. It ran a lot on Jean Shepherd’s radio program on WOR, New York. It had a bouncy, rail-fused A capella music bed, with announcer guided imagery of a trip to Florida by rail. Circa 1960’s. I think that service still ran after the birth of Amtrak for a bit. Thanks, Jaw Tooth.
