I didn’t apply for a credit card but was putting all my savings to BPI and called me that I am eligible for their gold mastercard. It’s my first credit card and was very hesitant to get one because honestly I don’t know where to use them. I totally agree! Start small. Great things start from small beginnings! (Milo everyday.) These things are something that Filipinos should know. Not a lot of Filipinos have savings and it is important to save kahit paunti unti yan. Hindi pwedeng credit card agad. Status will follow when you start saving up. ☺️

i applied for 3 banks. first i tried at BPI (june 10) had my savings there for 5 years now but I didnt hear from them up until now despite giving them everything they asked for. Then BDO .I applied via pop out stores may freebie pa. I remebered that mas marami syang requirements, passed them on time online but up until now no update. Lastly,RCBC since July 11 but on the brighter side may CI na tumawag and they do update me on the status still pending so I am hoping I'll get it approved. I watch your videos please continue to post this kind of videos👏👏

Alam mo sometimes mabagal talaga sila, pero patience hehe sometimes parang months din ako sa pag apply. Pag may tumwag na CI feel ko malapit na yan. Also si BPI since matagal ka na saver baka naman close ka sa bank mo why not apply directly sa bank? :) Might help.

My first cc is from BDO. I opened a personal account for payroll and everytime sumesweldo ako nilalagay ko yung pera sa UB. As in maintaining balance lang natitira sa BDO ko pero they still gave me a credit card out of the blue. Pero UB di man lang mag offer ng cc sakin 😅

When I came back to the Philippines, I kept all my savings in SB, savings and payroll with them for 5 years, pero either personal or branch edorsement cc application lage declined hahaha. Dont know why Buti pa UB and MB binigyan ako kahit walang savings sa kankla pero I dont think its a beginner cards...may af na 3k and 3500 :(. But still grateful pa rin since they trusted me.

First of all I would like to thank you Jax for your very informative videos. I just recently stumbled on your vlogs and I’m really learning a lot. With this vlog I remember the time when I got my first ever credit card. It was with RCBC. I got disapproved multiple times by other banks and it was really hard to get my first one but I never stopped trying because I really wanted to build my credit history. I took care of it. Never missed my due dates and was even able to get the free annual fee for life promo they had back then. 2 years after, I now have 6 other credit cards with different banks and I give thanks to RCBC for giving me that chance to prove myself. So to anyone out there na nahihirapan rin to get your first credit card don’t be disheartened. Try lang ng try and once you get yours, take care of it, use it wisely 😊

Are you sure about sa supplementary card na may bearing yun sa bank sir ? kasi sa pag kaka alam ko , ang primary holder parin ang may credibility sa lahat ng transactions ni supplemenetary niya sir. For example, si primary hindi na nakabayad sa bank at nasira ang record niya, meaning affected rin ang credibility ni supplementary? kahit for example wala pang account si supplementary holder sa bank na iyon? can you please clarify sir, thank you. :)

Hindi ako 100% sure, but kasi based on my experience back then, I used it to apply also to other cards. I did have an easier time applying for other cards and if mataas yung limit kahit supplementary yun nabibigay din nila sa akin yung same or higher limit. :) But yes tama ka naman, its still part of the primary card holders account, limit, etc. Being a supplement just really gives you the feel of using a card if you dont have a way of getting a card of your own :) hope this helps.

Para po may basis din po kami na mga newbies for credit card applications po if ever na nagkaroon na po kami nh supplementary before :) only you can do this clarifications po since kayo ang maraming bank accounts po and more credible po na magtanong sakanila. Hi.. my mom is not aware na may monthly membership yung bdo amex cashback niya, kasi ang sabi daw sa kanya dati free for life since yung visa gold niya is free for life din. Kaso recently nakita niya na may membership fee na, ipapa cut sana niya pero may one month pa siya na di nasama sa SOA. Ano kaya magandang gawin?

Oh i have a vlog on hsbc credit cards let me link it to you. For savings for me id go to the bank where theres a branch near you and where you might have a relationship with the branch manager or tellers :)

Yey! I did have a UB dati what i didnt like is they make it so hard to have it waived yung annual fee so I decided to cancel it. But their CC is not bad :)

I also cancelled my CC with UB. I used to have Gold Visa with GetGo card from UB. A month before the anniversary i called UB and still they advise me that they cannot waive the annual fee hence i decide to just cancel it but when i got my credit report last month, UB didn’t update their CC status from Open to Voluntary Closed and now im waiting for their response on email.

Hi po sir jax 3months palang po akong bpi card holder, pwede pubang magaply sa ibang bank. Wala po akong work may savings lang. Ginagamit kulang po card ko sa grocery para sa sarisari store ni mama.

Mayroong tawag ng tawag sakin using mobile phone then I answered the phone kanina sabi nya from RCBC kasi nag apply ako credit card sa kanila last month lang. Natatakot naman ako na i entertain sya. Mag veverify daw sya tapos ang ginawa ko sabi ko... wait lang. Tapos ni hold ko sya tas end the call lol. Tapos tumawag ulit ngayong hapon di ko naman nasagot. I think legit naman yan kasi ikaw naamn nag apply. You can validate naman if ever by asking them anong data they have with you ganun. Basta wag lang siya humingi mga OTP ganun

Hi jax question. Baka may idea po kayo about sa hold money ng bpi or any bank for credit card. Diba po yung credit limit mo ay 90% ng dineposit mo. Pano kung mag dagdag ka ulit ng hold deposit to increase the credit limit, magiging 90% din ba yun or sa unang deposit lang yung maging 90%?
