You should do a touring car week. Example road going equivalents, Cavalier gsi2000, Vectra gsi, Mondeo st24, Mazda xedos, BMW E36 etc. If you can get a Celica st185gt4 Carlos Sainz edition I'd be grateful. My dad had one when I was a kid. Been my ultimate car since. Also a wild car and I doubt you'd get one. But have you ever heard of the Nissan bluebird zx turbo? Yes it was the hot version of the blandest car in the world, The bluebird. Lol dad had one also. Chipped, with upgraded turbo, intercooler and exhaust with the boost turned up. Was an animal in the mid 90s. Used to eat escort rs turbos running old school chips claiming 200bhp lol Ah nostalgia. Thanks for the video. The old Honda type Rs are incredible, the attention to detail and quality with regards to the engineering/driver experience is something I don't think we will see again at this price point. Still my all time favourite car, at least on UK roads. 5 seats so the whole family can come too. Not that fast in absolute terms but fast enough if you’re comfortable about not being the fastest car on the road and - very importantly for me - it was exciting, even at legal speeds. I had an NSX and that was brilliant (was my dream car) but I preferred the Accord. It was just “me”. Begged to be thrashed, sounded fabulous, and if I ever did drive it hard enough on country roads to have the LSD kick in, it was so impressive. Every time before I got in the car, I thought about selling it. Every time I got out of the car, the idea of selling it seemed crazy, with me looking back with a huge smile on my face. Only the DC2 Integra was more exciting, but maybe with the Accord just being more unassuming or maybe it just suited the UK roads better, not sure I’d actually say I prefer the Integra. Six gears and a higher redline is the only way I think the car could have been improved. I replaced it with a Porsche 996 911 Carrera 2 and every single time I was out in it, I missed the Accord. I loved the look of the Porsche but wished underneath it could have been the Accord, engine ‘n’ all, despite the power deficit. I’ve got a B7 RS4 Avant now and it’s a great car, brilliant all rounder. Best car I’ve ever owned in so many ways. I just enjoyed the Accord more.

@snbala4 жыл бұрын
I had one for 4 years in silver but a pre facelift. I did like mine, it’s a great car to drive regards to handling and the engine is underrated. However rust is a really big issue, they go on the bulkhead which kills these. A rare sight and prices are low, if you can find a good one, buy it but expect parts to be rare and money to be spent on maintenance. Just a little side note on the video, it’s actually 209bhp from factory, 212PS.

Enjoyable review, thanks, good to see these cars getting attention. I've had a Pirate Black pre-facelift as a daily driver for the last 2 years, and it always puts a smile on my face. Fortunately I'm able to do my own work, which has included Cam / Cranks shaft seals, VTEC Solenoid seal, valve clearances, cambelts & balance belts + pulleys & tensioners, the aforementioned rust hole in the bulkhead, brake rebuild, and way more. Its easy to see how people would buy it as a cheap car and then scrap / get rid of it rather than pay for the work to be done. Some comments I would say are that the brakes are really excellent once you get some decent pads on them, twin pot calipers, the suspension really sharpens up once you replace the worn bushes, its not as sharp as an Integra, but on our back roads they probably have better pace as they soak up the pot holes & bumps well. Agree about the power band, to stay in VTEC you have to take it to exactly 8,000 before changing gear.

An underrated car that was an absolute gem. It’s a sedan yet it’s lightweight. It’s FWD yet the rear end is compliant with trail braking meaning you can throttle on earlier than RWD car. I had a black pre face lift one. Great cars apart from a few little issues. 6k is very big money for one of these. They normally redline at 7800

I bought one a around 4 years ago to tick off a car i always wanted but couldn't afford in my 20s. Had the best fun ever in it for a year and made profit when i sold it on. Same colour as this one too

My ATR was a battered rusty skip, loved it though, surprisingly good car. Way more fun than the EP3 I had before it.

I live in NZ, I own a JDM DC2 Integra Type R I have done TONNES of research on everything honda Type R related, I love them so much. Yet, maybe a year and a half ago, someone mentioned to me about an Accord Type R. And I said "no they never made one, just the Euro R". Thinking I was right, I had never seen or even heard about an Accord Type R. But no, I was wrong and he was right. It even said in the Honda Type R wikipedia page, a tiny little anecdote near the bottom of the page "oh yeah they made an Accord Type R for Europe only" And this is the first time Ive actually seen one. Yep it looks nothing like the CL1 Euro Rs im so used to seeing (though tbh I think I still prefer the CL1s styling) but its so cool to see one of these. No one knows about them. Not even me, who thought I knew everything there was to know.

Something about honda type R's they dont have to be the most powerful things in the world yet they just ooze fun, I think it's just a solid mix of useable power, the delivery of power, high revs, lightweight, fine gearboxes and a great chassis which all equals a very involving drive 👌 what a great balance and I love that Honda dont chase big power figures or consider that is solely important.

I had exactly the same car 3 years ago. Silver, geen interior and facelift. As a drivers car I loved it, took me ages to find a low mileage one without a rusty bulkhead! But it did start rusting while I had it!!! The LSD was the standout feature, deserving equal praise to the vtec, it really pulls you into the apex, fantastic. However I could not live with it on the m-way just to thrashy on a long run, needs a 6th gear. However as a drivers car in saloon form I rate it above my E39 M5, my B7 RS4 and my Imprezza Turbo. I would have another but would need to take the 675LT if I had a long motorway trip. If it has a FSH, lowish miles and no rust its worth near the £6k, they are very rare now and 95% are high miles and rotten. A real shame. Cheers James 👍

I have an almost identical one in silver that I bought in 2006, great car. I thought when you were doing your special about your Ferrari (mint!) about the steering wheel
