SNOW HAMMERS TENT. Snowmobile Season Arrives

Winter has taken hold in Canada's Arctic. The snow is here to stay for the year and the lakes are frozen. The trees are covered in the white fluffy stuff and the air is cold and crisp. This is perfect for getting away from the city and taking in nature in a tent with a wood stove. This is the first time I get to take the snowmobile out to my secret tent location and that means it should be a long season of winter camping in the bitter cold.

How much experience do I have?
That depends. I am pretty good at starting a fire these days and gathering wood. But I don't really have true bushcraft skills and definitely no carpentry or construction skills or training. I could probably make a shelter if I had to, but that would just come from all the KZbin training (watching) over the years.

When you said about the fantastic sleep you get out there, it makes me remember when my sister and I would go camping in the summer. When my head hit that pillow I was out for the count. The sun warming up the tent is what would wake me up. That's probably the last real good sleep I've had over the years. Awesome video like always.

Double cheese, pepperoni and mushrooms. Along with a pitcher of beer. Thats the way my Father and I both would order when we were together. Sadly, he passed away in 2014. The snow is looking great. Have fun and stay safe.

Man, I wish we had that tent to live in!! We live in southern Maine and we’re homeless, living in our car. I did buy a 20 degree sleeping bag and it’s keeping us warm on the freezing nights. But, my favorite pizza is bacon!! I also like mushrooms and onions and the classic cheese pizza!!

Way hay, another great camp oot in the cosy cabin tent in the woods ! LOVE IT! Always enjoy your vids when you just get away from it all and reset in the wilderness. That burger looked scrumptious too 🍔 When your dealing with temps like you have to deal with a good parka coat is a MUST HAVE 😲 oh nearly forgot you need to take some of them electolyte fruit drink powders out to camp with you to keep you properly hydrated and energised for all that wood chopping 😅👍😉

Been watching and enjoying your videos for a couple years now. I notice you have to gather wood and kindling to get a fire started when you arrive at camp. My father would roll over in his grave if one of his sons did that.From a very young age we were taught to never never never leave the camp or go to bed without having a supply of wood and fire starter ready to go.Cheers.

He's right, Jay! Heaven forbid, you should arrive at the camp, in need of an emergency fire. In those cases, you'll have no time to collect or split kindling. You should always leave sufficient kindling behind, so you'll be able to start a fire at the drop of a hat! Stay safe!!

Jay u can keep your tent warmer by adding a inner lining. DYI a li Ning by adding cotton sheets to the frame which will give u a 2" air space between the outer tent and warm inside. It is the same principle as your bear/Russian tent.

A very relaxed, enjoyable video. I know what you mean by watching the snow falling especially at night. In my younger days, I'd be right out there with you or at least going for a hike. On the subject of pizza... I started making my own from scratch several years ago (dough & sauce). Once I got it perfected to my liking the family always wants to join in on pizza nights. So yeah, I know exactly what you mean for getting the pizza just the way we like it. But pineapple on pizza is a no no for me although some in the family like it. That's an ongoing controversy that people like to talk about. Thanks for the video. 👍

Can’t get over how thick the ice got so quickly How is the ice fishing there? The amount of snow ❄️ is crazy. The food looked great. Pizza of any kind is good. Favorite is Greek, meat lovers, deluxe, Hawaiian and of course CANADIAN. When I go to my camp 🏕 I sleep like a dead man. Fresh air and quiet space is where it's at.
