That is how we taught my grandson to speak and read with Apraxia. My daughter and I did this on our own to teach him. I also taught him the music scales for learning to speak. It has helped him so much more than having the speech therapist. So, we started this mostly for the therapists to teach better.

How to fix this damage?. After listening to you, now I have started emphasising on the sound of its letter. Please suggest.

Hii, I have already subscribed n liked ur video. I have question. What can we say when to kids when some letters r silent in a word. I mean y r they actually silent. N y dont we pronounce those letters. Just a general query. Sorry to bother you. Thanks!

@@milanvaya655 words should be introduced in a correct order do as not to confuse the students. Jolly phonics has a word book that will give you words to practice in the correct order. When a word doesn't follow the rules of phonics (that's about 5% of words) we call them "tricky words" and we practice then separately and encourage the child to understand the word is being tricky and it's trying to trick them - they used to be called sight words but now we encourage the child to highlight where the word is being tricky and were it is following phonics rule.

PERFECT, this is how I was taught and I wondered why teaching has moved away from this. These days the teaching is more about conversational English rather that teaching how words actually sound and how they come to sound that way. Love this video

Teachers ought to teach the 44 sounds of the English language. The letter "a" for instance doesn't just say the short /a/ sound; it also says the short /o/ sound, for instance, like in "ball." If kids were directly taught all the sounds for each letter/letter combination along with phonology rules, then there would be higher reading rates, in my opinion.
