Color has no influence on my purchase; however, shape does. I only care about two things when it comes to builds 1) performance and 2) compatibility . Some graphics cards I've bought wont fit onto motherboards because the idiot who designed the motherboard decided to add a fancy graphical heat sink right near the PCIe slots. That is one of the things that really pisses me off.

Anime536 _ Well the titan is already exactly what ypu describe in your comments. It is a poor man's quadro that is also designed with a little bit of gaming in mind. The Quadro and Titan arent that much different in proccesing power, but the quadro have advanced gpu and ram debugging mode and also you got 24/7 Nvidia technical support for your needs. Of course the quadro is twice the price of the already overpriced titan, but hey its for profuh'syunahls!!!!!!!!

I had to buy a DVD external burner for £19. The cost of an external is so damn cheap it doesn't do any harm to own one to watch movies etc. Note: I originally bought an external Blu-Ray but there was no Y-cable with it. The company who built it assumed everybody who used external appliances were using laptops so there was a heavy duty USB cable to get power from a laptop battery. So, it was useless only getting 9v from a single desktop PC's USB2 port [the USB 3.0 ports then didn't supply very stable voltage] so I asked them to sell me a Y-cable but they had none so I figured " I don't buy Blu-Ray movies anyway so wtf, I'll get a DVD burner for a fraction of the price!". It has worked fine since spring 2016. I tried downloading the drivers for the Asus mobo and GTX1080 but the mobo drivers were really buggy so IF i wanted to O/C the ram, cpu, etc then I'd have to use the BIOs but I'm finding running the cpu @ 3400hz quite enough. It's designed to run @4Ghz but I just don't need it [I actually play a LOT of older 1999 and 2003 games such as Planescape:Torment and Jagged Alliance 2]. Gotta luv the classics!

I'm so glad I bought an EVGA 1080ti sc black before the RTX cards came out and all the GTX series cards disappeared. The 1080ti still kicks ass in 2019 and holds its value extremely well. No way I'm paying 1600 for a 2080ti when you only get 20-30% more performance. The 980ti to 1080ti generation gap was WAY more than the 1080ti to the 2080ti. And the 980ti and 1080ti were the same price if I recall, or very close together. Certainly not 50% more.

Just tried mine, ran the Firestrike test once and got 27,556. Had to disable GSync as the test went over 144 FPS at one point, got 29,816 after disabling GSync, it hits the same temp (70c-72c) but clocks at base (no OC mode or anything) 1949-1988Mhz during Firestrike.

I dunno about the look factor. Yeah, if there was an absolute choice between any color I wanted with no price variation I would definitely pick the color I want - but otherwise, I go for whatever performs the best at the best price. Case in point: I got my Gigabyte Windforce GTX 1080 for $420, $70 cheaper than other 1080's and it has probably the most god awful color design and pattern in the history of graphics cards. It looks like a freaking box elder bug.

Mine runs pretty loud, even at idle. Other than that pretty good card. Idles 11C higher than my ASUS STRIX 1080. It absolutely murders Rise of the Tomb Raider at 4K/max settings though. Normally it runs 60 FPS rock solid, only seen it dip down to 50 FPS a couple of times in super dense parts.

On the color argument, I completely agree. One of the big reasons why I decided to sell my 1080 Gaming X 8G and move over to EVGA again. Just did a major overhaul on my rig with a new motherboard, RAM, and CPU. Case is white, cabling is white, RAM is now white, and my motherboard is now silver. The black and red clashed way too much with the new build. Just bought two EVGA 1080ti FTW3's. Won't have to upgrade for a very long time now. Can't wait!

Since I became an MSI fanboy, I rock the red and black system. MSI motherboard, and I just ordered the MSI GTX 1060 6gb (same shroud as the 1080 ti in this video). So I'm happy to purchase it, and the color scheme actually enticed me to buy it! MSI 4-life! But you did raise an interesting point about having RGB lighting underneath red tinted plastics... VertSabre That wasn't my point, I said that because 900 series only supported 60hz at 4k, the 1000 series or at least the 1080ti which is what i got can lock vsync at 144hz in 4k, and games like CSGO and Overwatch take advantage of a 144hz panel in this case, of course this is using DSR in my 1440p 144hz monitor.

Mink thats like preferring graphics over gameplay, except there are games that have been proven overtime that even with good graphfics it won't mean shit if the gameplay is garbage. If the quality build and performance are excellent and have it all cooled down thats all it matters, my Noctua NH-D15 performs a lot better than corsairs water coolers for a cheaper price, while my friend and I that owns it as well have overclocked our chips with no problems at all

Love the specs and results you got from the card, but yes the color needs something done with it, yes I have a red and black themed build and it would fit right in, but others do not and I could definitely see an issue for others. On the other hand though it may also not matter to some if they are into modding and just disassemble and do some painting. I did vote for a neutral visual as it should be. But overall for me the aesthetics of the card are not an issue.

You forgot to answer the burning question that which is the title of your video. And that's who needs this much GPU power? To me I'd say don't waste your money on the ti version of this card unless you want to do 4K gaming with max settings in all games and frame rates that don't drop below 60fps for most of said games. Otherwise to most of us that either don't own or plan on purchasing a 4K display in the near future you're probably better off sticking with the regular GTX 1080 and it's now discounted price.

That's what I thought. I STILL have an old 36inch monitor from 2011 and it has only 60hz so the 512bit bus interface on this card would be a waste on such a crappy monitor. Tbh? I'm more into getting a decent quality 32inch 144hz monitor. I seriously got no complaints from my 1080 even now. I missed the price drop from 1080 to 1080Ti by about 6 months but, wtf can ya do? Unless I plan on buying a 50-70inch 4K monitor [which is apparently the only way the human eye can appreciate the true millions of pixels per square inch] why bother with 4K?

Geoffrey Martin Same here, m8. From Witcher 3 to the last version of Doom, Deus Ex:MD, I have absolutely no complaints at all. I would have bought a GTX1080Ti but I had the money at the time and didn't think to wait 6 months for the price to drop [also, I got a 25% reduction because I had spent over £700] and the Ti version to be released at the price of the regular 1080. For all I knew, they could have kept the Ti waiting until another 18 months! I know it made a LOT of Titan X owners VERY unhappy - for $750 they were getting a Ti that could outperform a Titan X at $1200. Older games such as GTAV SP runs so fast I lock it at 60fps because my monitor only does 60hz and Mafia III was a great disappointment without any savepoints so I returned to playing Mafia II which is just as good, if not better. I've tried running games at 3400x2200 resolution but I still get the 240-300fps which = a LOT of 'tearing'. I'll be happy with a 144hz monitor. Not 4K. It's just not necessary for me. I hear GForce monitors are worth buying because they let you run games at very high frame rates wo tearing? [WITH nvidia cards, of course] But I am determined to buy a decent smaller monitor because 35inch monitors and over are just too big to enjoy. I have to place the bloody thing about 7 feet away. It says "35 inch monitor display" but I measured from one corner of the viewing screen to another and it is 36 inches...and that was just the measurement of the visible Windows desktop, it's actually about 1/8th of an inch wider. Nota: it is SEPTEMBER 2018. My Asus GTX1080 STILL runs games beautifully. I'll wait for the next range. No rush.

johnny bgood not surprised it only has to render a limited area at once while Wildlands has a lot more action, more ai npc's moving objects and overall just much more load on cpu and gpu in general. Now trying to run 1440p on Wildlands in ultra you will see a dramatic decrease in overall fps.

I have this card. Just put a waterblock on it and put it in a loop with my 6700k. Runs 2101 mhz stable at 45c with 5613 on memory. This is amazing and i absolutely love the card.

its fine just get the newer 7600k and a z270 board. also dont bother with 120mm radiators, either get a solid air cooler, cryorig H5/dark rock 3, or go all out and get a 240/280mm rad, 120s suck and you should only use them if you are limited on space. i bet that the cryorig H5 or dark rock 3 performs better. and if your concerned about aesthetics TP-Link makes a better version of that wifi card for just a little extra, its called the Archer T6E AC1300, it would look alot better than that hideous green

I never quite understood the obsession with how the card looks. I mean if you are running an open test bench sure, but of all the PC's I've built and used over the years, not once could I see the face of the card, since the face of cards (unless you have a left side mount case) point down. I get the whole 'trying to match a theme', but if you can't see it anyway, who cares?

if the stay on the desk next to you with a glass window, then you certainly see the shroud on both cards - and with rgb being the new 'thing' it makes more sense to not introduce various colors in addition. The MSI card even has tgb leds, behind red plastic.. so whatever color you chose will be colored off by the red plastic before it goes into the case - sure its nitpicking, but still a bit weird. Now MSI's logo and brand color is red, which is why they stick with it - just like Noctua sticking to their poop brown and puke tan colors as its their trademark.. how many havent been thrown off and gone with a different brand just to avoid the horrid color scheme? (I have). Now I stayed away from Noctua, but went with MSI even if it has red - red iw WAY better for color than the Noctua's - and the cards are just awesome in performance so the small red is not a deal breaker for me this time around :)

My last 4 PC's all had clear side panels and were on the desk next to me. Only when I put my head on the desk itself and look up can I somewhat see the face of the card. Regardless, let's say you can somehow see the face of the cards, is it really that much of a deal-breaker what color it is? I mean when I use my PC's I am looking at my monitors, not staring at the tower. Now If I could actually see the face of the cards clearly, then yes I can understand that argument. However, in my own experience with PC's over the years I've never been in a position to actually see the face of the cards unless I literally went out of my way to do so.

I got the RX580 Gaming X PLUS (same cooler as 1080Ti) and will be painting the whole thing with some matte black plasti-dip. . . I'll only let the red bits where the LEDs are red and the RGB MSI logo as they were. Reason for Doing it is because my pc is all blacked out with only some red LEDs.

Regarding the PSU cable, I got my desktop used and the previous owner didn't supply the PSU cables. It was a joy to have that cable included with a new GPU. Buying the cable individually was usually from a custom sleeve supplier and was pricey.
