The US doesn't have nationwide microcenters. TN has an NFL football team a NHL hockey team and an NBA team but no microcenters. OH has 2 and GA has 2 for example. There are several states that don't have a microcenter. So if you live in TN like I do you would have to go to OH or GA. The Toasty Bros who live in Louisville KY go to one of the OH microcenters. If I stay in TN I would likely go to one of the GA ones. I say if I stay because I am thinking of moving to another state which while it also lacks microcenters is closer to OH. I am retiring and want out of TN but I would like to either get my pc upgraded or get a more powerful one. I have 2 pcs one an older Cyberpower that I bought at a pawn shop many years ago but it still runs albeit barely and a ABS from Newegg that was given to me as a present. I play games on the ABS but it is a starting to show its age and having issues so I would like to get it upgraded or replaced.

I just realized it sounds like I don't have any friends, and I kinda don't but I'm a "Sigma Male" and like my solitude. But sometimes it's nice just to have something other than music running in the background that you don't have to listen to, too closely. I also watch derbauer like this. I brought it in to the tech bar and they got the PC running. Turned out one of the RAM sticks was bad and the CPU was defective. They swapped the parts and charged me their minimum fee since the could handle the defective return. That experience turned me into a life time Microcenter fan even though I live an hour away.

Things I don't like is the nearest store is over 100 miles away from me, they don't have the parts I want either in stock or don't carry, their website is hard to navigate to find the parts and They don't have Shipping on all. (example: Ram I want G-Skill ram and I click DDR5 ram and they say 1 or 2 when building my list).

You learn by experience to look for almost invisible signs of the history of what what was put in front of you to work on. I have done more than a few dozen computer build fault findings..... IF you want to be good at this you need to engage yourself in as many of these kinds of builds as you can find. You would think Geek Squad would tur5n out some SuperStars in this field.... I think Jay did splendidly in this challenge. Kudos for the non-spinning GPU fans, good catch. As an unpressured bystander when the utter lack of thermal paste was discovered and it did not appear that Jay checked the cold plate for the plastic I immediately said "Check the cold plate". The one solution I disagree with was the one fan not showing LED's, IMO, the correct solution would have been to disconnect all the LED's (hell, just cut all the led cables). :)

That was a nice one. A few very dirty things like the plastic on an old cpu. Or the cmos battery that was hidden. Or the LED that was plugged into itself and then taped together. But you found all of them. Very good skills and the way you did it also made a lot of sense. Personally i would not agree with let the CPU cooler run without a fan just with passive cooling from the case fans but i also don't know the timeline. A few minutes are properly ok but i would not let it run for hours like this. Great video Jay thanks

I think you did an outstanding job at troubleshooting. It's even harder not knowing what the symptoms are! Soooo, if you ever stop making content (though we hope you never do) you can always go to work as a tech at Micro Center! As far as the AIO was concerned, it would have been much more diabolical if they somehow drained all the coolant out instead of plastic. THAT would have been a tough one to figure out.

Like power cables are they plugged in are they plugged into the right power sockets on both ends, Is the ram seated properly, Is the GPU seated properly, are the systems fans plugged in to the right fan power plugs these are all thing you should be doing Jay before even thinking about turning on a system as you could have caused a short in any of the loosely fitted hardware and possibly killing it.
