Thanks for the review Taylor...FYI, hotels are starting to provide different firm/soft pillow options to cater to sleepers' preferences. I like it when hotels do that since I have neck issues and prefer a flat pillow instead of a fluffy one. 😊

Taylor, you have a damn good talent on your apartment interior ! Stunning dear! Plan on doing a few months travel next year in Asia to look at KL, Vietnam, South Korea and Thailand all as possible retirement spots for this retired Aussie. Love your channel and thank you for all the wonderful information you share. Take care sweetie!

Hi Taylor, been watching some of your videos from time to time. I am a Malaysian living overseas and your videos give me a nostalgic vibe every time. I do miss Malaysia sometimes and sometimes I don’t. I can say that the train services have never improved since i left 10 years ago. They can add new equipment all they want but the quality of service is never up to mark. I can understand your irritation and frustration when things don’t get done as how they should be. I have had to live with this poor service attitude most of my life there. I always wondered what does it take to make that extra little effort. Anyway, I believe you are enjoying your retired life there and best of luck and also keep the videos coming.

I would disagree about the train service. The ETS service has been excellent. Been using it regularly. Just like any other train services, there will be occasion hiccup.

Thanks Andy! Always nice to catch an glimpse of Penang. I had to laugh when you confessed about Americans getting easily perturbed... "SO TRUE LAH?"... I also had to reflect back with some quaint fondness when you chronicled what one of my Malaysian Chinese friends used to joke about as: "Malaysian Deficiencies", but compared to America where a two hour train trip can be delayed for hours or simply leave you stranded in the worst part of town perhaps the Malaysia high speed train effort shows up America. I used to say Malaysia as a "Three out of Five" country or that 3 out of 5 things you will be pleasantly enjoyable. Compared to what I'm experiencing in America today, rarely can I say much things score a "One out of Five" Looking back to what I used to find most annoying in Malaysia many years ago seem pointless compared to the disappointments and occasional horror shows I encounter in America now, so thanks again Andy for sending a bit of sunshine and tropical breezes this way it's always appreciated!

the hotel looked far better than i expected. it was totally closed for almost 3+ years. just imagine the mold that may be present. it was sad to see it close for such a long period. i cannot imagine how they maintained it during that time because it was not in business. you are a brave soul going in there. thanks for the video.

Hi Andrew. Nice to watch your vlog as always. We will not be using Jazz when we visit Penang in March 2025 and I think we will use an alternative to the train to travel there from KL too. Your journey did seem very long. We look forward to seeing your new apartment vlog soon. I can easily get frustrated too if things are not right, it is not just an American thing Hehe 😀 I am English. Have a good week & take care. Ashley.

Hi Taylor, Its good to have honest reviews from you about Malaysia. Please dont feel guilty about criticizing as this should render improvement because recently we were in Alor Setar we realize that most of the 4 and 5 star hotels were in abysmal condition. No hot water in the shower, fungus growing in the toilet, toilet flush does'nt work, no air-conditioning in the foyer and corridors , just shocking. So i can understand the frustration of paying so much and getting bad quality . My sister recently suggested me to take the electric train from KL to Butterworth , thanks for the headsup , i think i will just fly. Keep up the good work and keep on giving us honest opinion.

Well, google and read online reviews before you make bookings. Just in any country towns hotels may may not in good conditions.

I always make my request during check-in, if they could offer a room with the view I like. I am sure they would accommodate, if they could. Do note that the person behind allocating the rooms to those checking-in for the day may not be experienced enough, it happens. So, be sure to make a request.

My agents just submitted our SMM2H application today. BTW, we checked a 2-bedroom apartment at your complex D'Rapport in April. So when you first showed it I recognized it right away. The condo units are actually quite big and nice. Facility seems to be well maintained. But the lobby isn't very nice. The entire complex seems very empty. I think there might be a lot of Chinese investors here. On the whole, this area of Ampang is pretty quiet - which is good. But this building complex seems to be a bit ghostly.

Abt hotel, i will go down at reception put on my sweetest smile and charming voice request change to seaview room. Its not about being a fuss but if its same price plus midweek day i will do it.😁..paying customer. 💰. Some hotels may give a free upgrade to a better room especially midweek bookings do ask with a charming smile😁. People are working, no public holidays and no school holidays. If you like to visit Malaysia for a holiday do check online when are the school holidays for Malaysia and Singapore schools. Singapore because many will come up here for vacations too.
